I admit that I have gotten into the habit of conceding vs someone that plays very slow from the start. I also will DC if my opponent starts to stall when I take the upper hand. I don't really care about the win, but I just do not want to give my opponent the satisfaction of a free win at that point.

I only play casual 2-3 games to test changes to decks before returning to Ranked.

Playing Temur Fling a Drake today, and user Osubucknuts got salty in such a funny manner.

He drops T3 Lily and keeps passing his turns without playing more zombies, since there is not much I can do. This allows me to stock up on fog effects. So he keeps trying to attack with this HUGE herd of zombie tokens and is near the system limit for tokens when I finally find the other half of the combo. Of course, he can't believe it! So he jams the stop timer over and over. To exit the loop, I casted a fog to save him...

I swear Fling a Drake brings out the reactions. It's got all the Fog effects to build frustration, and the big combo finish to steal games Opp convinced they were winning out of the blue. That deck could put Morton Salt out of business.

Hey got airplane moded by a familiar name. Either that or bad connection it's always suspect when it happens before I can play a land.

Edit: could have been a turn 4 kill if fog hadn't been there

Nice and terrifying lifelink deck you are playing! I got VERY lucky and was able to fog every turn after 3, make land drops, and keep flipping cards. Fog falls apart on me more often than not, but not tonight haha. Your deck is quite favored against an average drake combo draw and I was expecting to lose at the beginning of each turn.

Nice to play someone from the forums, the only other member I've noticed is Ariel Belkin.

Eh you were replaced by ai before I could drop my first swamp. The AI did not fare very well

Odd, I always thought other people were disconnecting on turn 1. I wonder if the problem is on my end, or maybe the server is just garbage, since both of us weren't messing with airplane mode. In my version of the game I finished the game without getting hit once. I even clicked snapshot since it was the first perfect game I've seen with the deck.

Is anyone else seeing turn 1 disconnects very often?

I only see it about 1 in 5 games its usually when someone hits airplane mode to avoid playing the human player and to play the AI instead which is much easier. To be clear I do not do this because I could care less whether I win or lose and only want to play. Unfortunately early in this games life cycle Reddit users were teaching each other how to avoid having to play against human opponents to farm. Even a mod was spreading it around. Pretty sad but what ya gonna do?

That's funny! One of the reasons I started this thread was because I was seeing so many disconnects; one in five sounds about right for me too. Now I know it's a problem with Duels since it happened in a match where both players were connected to uninterrupted wifi. It was more or less a black aggro deck I just happened to draw all the life gain

I play exclusively on Steam. Cabled Gbit network, with 500/500mbit fibre connection to the internet. I assure you, my network is rather stable. And yes, I do monitor it, I attribute that to my dayjob as a network technician.

I lose connection to people when they are facing lethal, either with or without a concede message, often both - AI takeover and a concede msg on top of eachother. And as you describe, about 1-2 in 10 games I get the "replaced by AI" before I even see my hand or before/around the first landdrop.

That being said, I have seen the client crash on occasion and these crashes have often happened as I choose concede myself. This happens maybe once or twice a week for me. Crashes, not concedes, I do plenty of those.

Yes, it's the first land drop scenario we are referring to. It happened in our game last night, but neither of us had connection issues. I used to believe it was people gaming the system for an easy match by cycling airplane mode on their first turn. I'm sure there are some people doing that, but the AI is not fun to play against and there is no reason to grind coins. I suspect that a majority of the turn 1 disconnects we are seeing are not done intentionally (based on last night's experience).
