Could be for a haunted-dead/prized amalgam/ gy recurring deck, with extra Discard/madness thrown in. Could also be a recurrable creature to sac for the black god... Any other ideas?


I used it when madness first came out. The card is fine, there's nothing wrong with it, it's just very expensive. There are not many better 1 drops for that type of deck.

I think Abzan, maybe. I wish we could do it with Zombies. Hmmm... maybe. There are just not maybe Zombies you want to kill all the time. In Abzan, I'd still consider the old eldrazi sub theme, and if I did, we really haven't gained anything for the deck other than Bontu. :-/

Does 20 divide by 3? Not exactly of course. Pity because a triple whammy of Chandra's ignition, Swing, Fling gets the job done but for 7 power rather than 6. Room I guess for a shock finish literally!

I wanted to go Mardu crats due to the new white zombies and some indestructibility, but indeed taking away blue could prove slower without a token factory.

So fun little interaction: turns out that if your creature ETB's and puts -1/-1 counters on things, you can target Glyph Keeper with the counters, and GK will counter the effect. Probably not the greatest combo ever, but it's still a decent interaction.

AI uses that a lot. Speaking of AI, it seems a lot stronger now that it doesn't have Crew futzing it up, tho it def isn't very bright with Exert. But its been using more interactive cards like counters, sweeps, and spot removal.

I'd like Insult/Injury for my Thermo grinding deck. Seems perfect for Thermos, esp in 2HG.

If you need a grinding deck, let me know. I've built a few that just rip through the AI super fast - for when you just want to collect (don't mind the occasional reset), and don't feel like a challenge or doing anything original.

Nah, I quickly assembled a simple yet effective red-deck-wins deck for grinding. Someone once told me (regarding Standard paper Magic but it seems to apply here): "RDW is always viable." And to boot the RDW motto is "Win fast or not at all." I tend reach my daily gold limit most days, it's just there are so many cards now.

Yeah man... if you are going that route, the fastest cards are probably all in the latest sets - this is just for speed unlocking, not necessarily for consistency - but who cares if you're just grinding.
