You can still get matches for DotP 2012 and that game came out 5 and a half years ago. Pretty sure Duels will be around for a while after they stop releasing new content. Especially with the extremely large card pool, as you said.

This means an already small fanbase of Duels will slowly dwindle to nothing.

If it doesn't get discontinued, I'll probably keep playing, especially if next is pure pay-to-play.
I like the free-to-play model, especially since I have all the cards and can easily get enough coins to unlock new sets on release without really grinding.
