Game 1: this was a particularly grueling match with me trying to chip away at SD as he built a gigantic meat wall of creatures much bigger than mine. I managed to get a Ravenous Intruder through a few times under the threat I might pump it. Even though I had the upper hand for a while it became clear I was going to lose to the much bigger creatures and that's almost what happened. SD plopped down some green creature I cannot remember but it pumped his whole board and he attacked and left back one creature. Naturally I blocked just enough to survive and fed the dammed to the Connisseur. Next turn I dropped the Rogue's Passage I had just drawn and stole the victory

Game 2: much less eventful and much more one sided thanks to an on curve Aethersphere Harvester. Can't really remember too much from this one

SquiderDragon 0 v Mortivore 2

Game 1 Quite an epic one. We both built out boards with creatures. I had the higher power creatures. I was waiting for removal or the right moment. Mortivore playing an artifact sacrifice theme and creatures with evasion. Errors on my part. Probably should have blocked the infiltrator first attack. I was aware he had artifacts to pump it up and at the time I had fewer creatures on board. I probably should have used universal solvent on the blood flow connoisseur as it was the bigger threat. I misplayed the alpha strike and probably needed to hold at least the artifact back for blocking or as I had an artifact to play I should have held off using the kind ape for trample. Not sure but probably Mortivore had Rogue's passage in hand a while so his timely play after the blood flow had been pumped meant he could send lethal through uncontested. A lot of land both sides and top decking. On reflection I think I should have probably won with correct play. Good game.

I sideboarded in more creatures for game 2 and removed a lot of top end. However an on curve aethersphere harvester made it tough with no option to remove. I Had removal but Mortivore had the faster board. Fairly short one-sided game. I needed to make more of game 1 to send the match to a decider.

SquiderDragon 0 v Magic Master 2

Game 1
I had a good hand though deck a little slow. Noticing MM playing black so assumed removal. His card draw and ramp helped to stabilise and the 7th land was timely to remove the renowned irregulars that would have won the game. I needed but did not get evasion via flying with 3 Nimbus Wings in deck. With a series of lands MM could finally get enough advantage to secure the win possibly when MM on 1 life an attack with all may have been better. As it turned out MM was able to field multiple creatures to keep alive initially. The titanic growth was timely. I had creatures to continue the threat but no removal or evasion. Even the removal of the life linker was denied as the final 2/2 damage was removed with the walking ballista that can transfer counter to damage, he could keep refilling it and in the end used it as a finisher. This was another clever part of MM's deck and later on in Match 2 with Multiform wonder he could provide evasion. For me another very close game 1 that for want of the right top deck spell could have been a win.

Game 2
In the second game I did get the early evasion but again removal game and managed it away. With damage from 2 oval chase dragster and again the walking ballista providing a good removal mechanic he could rely on when needed. Any threat I put out was removed and although at end I had more enchantment evasion it was too late.

2 Well played Games from MM and a nice deck. Will be interesting to see how the remaining cube matches go but sadly the other participants will not be able to record those matches .
