So, as I was drifting off to sleep last night, I was wondering what was the best deck you could build using only 1 land and 1 nonland card. Of course, all rarity restrictions would be out the window, and this would not be a legal deck. A simple example would be 20 Mountains and 40 shocks.

It really has nothing to do w/ duels directly, but I just started trying to think what 2 cards would make the best deck. Gideon and Shambling Vent would have a lot of power late, but be pretty slow to start. Spell Queller could be annoying w/ Meandering River, but again, slow. Maybe something simple like Advocate and Lumbering Falls.

Mainly just a thought exercise, but it was interesting coming up some of them. Figured others could come up with some super combos.

It's Molten Vortex obviously you MORON

Aether Hub and any 1 mana spell.

You would be better of with Shock, other wise you end up with a ton of Molten Vortex in hand that are dead cards.

How about 25 Mishra's Workshop and 35 Walking Ballista. Vs Babs, eventually it will take less than one Ballista to take down one Platinum Angel.
And the total amount of damage dealt is proportionate to n^2 (where n is the number of turns taken) unlike Shocks, which deal linear damage. And that's only if you remove counters, but ballistas can also punch face like a wrecking ball.
