My laptop that i was using to play the game died on me.

I have an windows 7 machine that i downloaded the game on but every time I load the game I get the dreaded unknown fatal error when the game goes to load up. I can hear the music before it crashes.

I have been digging thru old reddit and google threads and I can't seem to find a fix.

Did anyone else have this problem with a windows 7 machine?

Should I give up on this machine ever running it?

What is the graphics card? It must support DX11 for the game to work.

Make sure you have the Service Pack 1 installed, the game used to crash without it. I remember there might also be an additional windows hotfix that you ll need to install after that, so in sort, just make sure it's fully updated.

Install all updates from Microsoft and the GPU manufacturer, if it doesn't help try switching the graphics card to another modern one.

Running 7 and having no issues.
I am running a 1gig video card though and had to upgrade to that to play 2015.
Dollars to donuts the card is your issue.
