I am considering trying to play it here again as a way to get back into the game, but I remember the last time people talked about this when I was around they were having major player base issues AND a lot of the quests turned into versus quests. Is that still a thing and still a thing? Is there anything else I should be concerned about?

The quests are and probably will continue to be VS based quests (as they should be IMO).

I believe the player base is fine, they just can't connect to each other.. which is SUPPOSEDLY getting fixed with this update. That has yet to be determined..

Connectivity. Players couldn't connect to each other/get games.. that was the problem.

I have no clue.. I haven't hit the cap in a long time. I just do the bounties on both accounts I play on, then log off. It's more than enough gold to stay current.

The problem is I'd have to start from scratch .

How much gold on average are bounties now?

60, 80 and 120. If they aren't 80-120.. I reroll them, and I reroll the more tedious ones. If I get a bad reroll.. I'll just reroll it the next day.

Basically.. if you don't like playing Duels, don't play/grind. You can make a lot of competitive decks from Kaladesh alone currently. Gruul Energy is almost exclusively from Kaladesh and it kicks ass.. and will likely continue to kick ass. Earning gold in vs games on Xbox is easy too.. bc there's a lot of scrubs who don't have all the cards, and don't know how to MtG very well, resulting in free wins. You get even more free wins bc a lot of people don't know how to build manabases, and will miss their third land drop then concede. You can play aggro and hit the gold cap (if it's still at 400 or so) in an hour or two.. but that's a lot of time.

If i was going to grind on Xbox one i would just do it at the same time as HS or a couple other f2p card games i'm playing. It actually takes a while to get dailies done in everything, which is why I'm considering doing this on the XBONE rather than Steam (where I have two sets).

Okay for anyone who cares by inspection there seems to be 80 boosters in the Origins, B4Z, Innistrad, and Kaladesh sets, and roughly 60 in the Gatewach and Eldritch Moon sets. I'm assuming Aether Revolt will be 60 too (seems each second set is smaller) so it's safe to say 500 packs total?

500 * 150 = 75000 coins = $400

Well, $80 would get you Kaladesh + some of Origins probably, which would greatly increase your speed.

I'd wait to see if the connectivity issues get resolved before I spend a dime though..

AER is base 9.6k, could be lowered to 9.2k if they keep the same rewards.

At this point, the total would be 73050 gold = 10x 7500 gold bundles = $/€ 359.90 (Double check onto the store for the currency).
They are still debating on single cards purchase.

In all truth, KLD was the perfect season to come back and grind stuff up. Even KLD alone was enough to shape up a nice aggro shell for both SP and MP.


Now, even with AER's control cards, you should still go for aggro to farm stuff up.
And without single purchase, that still amounts to $/€ 62.97 for one big set such as KLD.

Also, given their previous choices, we could get a 33% off Kaladesh block deal on April.

If you had ANY number of cards, or farmed gold, before leaving the game; I highly advise you to contact their support and ask to "merge" accounts.

They did that in the past for users moving from a platform to another. Not sure if the policy changed.
Hell, Hasbro also refunded money to anyone that contacted them.


Anyways, if connectivity is your major issue, you must wait more than a week and get some feedback from actual users.
First week connectivity reports should not be worth much besides full Denial of service. There's enough people around to play with.

I can't wait to see what actually happens tomorrow. I'm pretty hopeful this time around since they got an extra month to tinker around with the game, but with that said, that could just be an extra month for them to find a way to break something else.
