So this isn't necessarily for a campaign, although it could be, but it is an idea I have for a character/avatar I want to use if/when I get into VTubing (I like roleplaying anyhow, and I admit I want attention). However, I'm not exactly sure if my rationale works out for certain characterisitcs: namely the exacerbated state of decay.

Essentially, the character in question is a Draugr--Norse undead/revenant brought back from the afterlife by sheer angst/envy towards the living (poorly paraphrased I know)--but, during a more self-loathing part of their life, the source of their undeath--said angst/envy against living again--is faltering, and as such their body has started to resume the natural decaying process.

My question to those who read this is: would this logic hold up in a traditional sense? Like, if whatever is animating a zombie/ghoul/revenant/other fleshy undead's body become more limited but not entirely shut off, would said decay be reasonable to expect?
