Illusionist's Gambit - (R)
Instant

Cast ~ only during the declare blockers step on an opponent's turn.

Remove all attacking creatures from combat and untap them. After this phase, there is an additional combat phase. Each of those creatures attacks that combat if able. They can't attack you or a planeswalker you control that combat.

I like the art on this one. Also, unless you as looking for a weird blue Fog, I think you need at least four players to make this work as intended?

Don't you just need three? They don't attack you and attack the opponent instead.

A game is you, player A and player B. Player A attacks you. You play gambit. Player A now must attack player B. So you only need 3 players.

You can only cast it on the declare blockers step of another opponent's turn. Doesn't that mean that they are already getting attacked, then you phase out all of the attackers and prevent them from attacking you (and I presume the previous player unless the combat goes through again, but then why did you bother casting the spell?).

If player A attacks you, who's turn is it?

That has to be the stupidest way to write that. See the Gatherer text for Rapid Fire:
Quote:
Cast Rapid Fire only before blockers are declared.

Target creature gains first strike until end of turn. If it doesn't have rampage, that creature gains rampage 2 until end of turn. (Whenever this creature becomes blocked, it gets +2/+2 until end of turn for each creature blocking it beyond the first.)

I actually dig this card, for once they did something amazing.

This combos amazingly with the curses they've spoiled. They resolve around creatures attacking, which this makes happen twice! Kinda sucks they didn't make this playable during your turn so you can combat trick activate those curses for yourself.

Do you not realize that these are completely different restrictions?

Wasn't this already made in red during Mirrodin?

I gotta say though, I hate the art. Cluttered as **** and it's just not very striking or good.

I'm sorry, but your enemy is in another castle.

Also, needs to be in a deck with Empty City Ruse.
