i assume that as a card its just very strong in general if you don't care much whether your hands are in your graveyard or your hand. The mana cost is significant though. |

If anyone would ever bother playing this is CEDH, they would get Lion's Eye Diamond/Underworld Breach/Sevinne's Reclamation, and if they had already drawn one of those cards (or if it's in the graveyard), swap in Brain Freeze (because you need that eventually to win anyway). It's not great compared to Intuition, but it could work. I have no clue how best to abuse it in any other format, though. |

The first two effects seem fairly pointless to ever use: a one mana discount on a five mana spell in exchange for giving an opponent a controlled wheel effect. However, this may be pretty playable in Pioneer and maybe even Modern; Gamble and Intuition are usable in Legacy, and Gifts Ungiven is definitely usable in Modern, so this seems like it could fit somewhere; perhaps with Unburial Rites and a reanimation target? |

Yeah, this would still have compared badly to Intuition even if the discount version was one cheaper. Of course, Intuition is a very strong card, so probably not a baseline for standard. I think you will only ever see this cast for the alternative cost if you need the one extra mana to combo off and the opponent you target is unlikely to find interaction. |
