Damn, that Kaya promo art was so badass, but I'm not a fan of either versions on her actual card (normal and borderless). What happened to the bearded axes?

Anyway, this card is neat. I like that it plays into Kaya's identify of being hard to kill, especially since her ult can bring herself back indefinitely.

This is my strongest feeling as well.
And honestly I have to admit I'm feeling pretty done with her as a character since in the entire time we've had her, she's demonstrated no genuine motivation of her own.

I honestly can't really see that changing with kaldheim either.

Oh yeah as a character she's added nothing good. I also don't see her flavor, if anything allowing something to recur while leaving a Spirit is the opposite of what a supposed assassin of ghosts should do. I have yet to like anything about Kaya on a flavor level. But the card is neat.

She says nothing interesting, does nothing interesting, this particular art is a bloody joke, and her gimmick as ghostbuster-in-chief did not have a long running time before "Writing for the overspecialized character" was sure to kick in.

Card's pretty good but I don't like how it escalates the removal/recursion arms race. Exile removal was safe barring a couple innate weirdos, dangit.

I dislike how they are slowly but surely increasing the amount of exile interaction.

It's not even that slow. We pretty much jumped from "Nothing normal" to "Repeated perfect recursion and removal avoidance". I feel like there were some steps missed in there, something between Pull from Eternity/Runic Repetition/Eternal Scourge and "lolnope, let's have a card that broadly makes premier exile removal kinda useless"

As much as I can enjoy the ult from a gameplay perspective, I agree that it seems like a bad direction regarding exile.

As MaRo's stated, cards like Misthollow Griffin, Eternal Scourge, and God-Eternal Rhonas are okay, because they just protect themselves from exile.

Processors weren't a huge deal to me because they only brought back your opponents' stuff.

Bringing arbitrary cards back from exile, though, does do a lot to make that form of removal feel less permanent, even if this only brings back a subset of cards.

I think planeswalker ultimates are allowed to break most rules. Karn Liberated for e.g.

Yeah, but not + abilities. Honestly that one bugs me a good deal more.

Oh, I see. That one is preemptive though. Like if you counter Iona's Judgment that doesn't count as interacting with exile

Doesn’t Kaya’s Ghostform also donthat just without the spirit?

Yeah i'm not convinced boomeranging your dude when its hit with an exile/kill spell counts as interacting with exile. It does hose exile cards but not more than many forms of evasion already do.
