Imagine how annoying it would be to have this in your deck and frequently have to call a judge to convince your opponents that yes, tramping over is optional. It doesn't help that "manually assign combat damage" is an option that's turned off by default on Arena.

I've called stuff bad when it ended up being near broken (or a few times actually broken) so I don't wanna just write this off. And like a 1-drop 2/2 trample haste seems amazing. But I'm just not sold because as a RDW player I still usually want to make it to at least like three lands which this can get in the way of until a few turns in.

This seems both powerful and irritating. Because the downside is to you, rather than an upside for your opponent it's much more controllable than Goblin Guide, which last I checked was insanely good.

10-land stompy reborn with Land Grant and forest/mountain duals to draw nothing but gas and do everything on 1 or MAYBE 2?

Oh yeah if it becomes a RDW staple then I won't be surprised and I'll be snatching up my play set, I just also won't be surprised if it comes up a bit on the lacking side.

It is also a landfall enabler. This together with the legendary minotaur could be fun, at least in limited.

it generates mana if you don't have a land drop, which helps with low-land decks

I'm not sure if Modern or Legacy Boros Deck Wins/Red Deck Wins want too many of this one, if any at all. Trample's fine, but its not the best turn 1 play for either deck. It could be a 1x of though, as some Modern decks will run Shard Volley. It feels more like Scythe Tiger than Goblin Guide.
