How do people feel about blue clerics using ice magic? I'm not a big fan of caring about clerics if it means you have to slap the type on a bunch of wizards. Who do they even worship? Angels, some leviathan, the idea of Cosi? If there is some new deity that is tied to ice, then I'm all for it but I don't think it makes sense for that to exist on Zendikar already. It all depends on if we get a good story about it.

I'm all for class types breaking color pie because what you do is often tied to who you are, but not always.
Otherwise there would never need to be anything other than wizards and maybe rogues in blue, but that'd be awful.

There are some pre Modern monoblue Clerics, then one on new phyrexia, one on Theros, and a bunch on Amonkhet

I don't mind it when it is like an oracle or something. If it allows me to draw cards because it receives visions from a god that is totally a blue cleric.

I'm not saying this is the first one that was strange to me. Hekma Sentinels also had some weird combat magic but given the relationship people had with gods on Amonkhet you call pretty much anyone with authority a cleric.

This is a form of protection magic, which seems like a good flavor fit for a cleric.
