I don't like the change from Hound to Dog. Hound sounds better.

To me at least, Hound only sounds better because that's what I'm used to. I think Dog is the better choice overall.

I wish canine creature types weren't so fractured -- dogs, foxes, wolves, etc. All cats just get to be cats.

None really bother me as much as Jackal.
Particularly as it makes the Khenra and Ainok feel disjointed despite being essentially the same thing.

If they ever change Viashino to Lizard, then I'm really going to lose my temper.

Now the difference between Naga and Snake is sufficiently pronounced, in so much as Gorgon and Lamia also have a stake in the fight.
The primary offender in those arguments ultimately come down to the Orochi, which REALLY jar the entire boat.
