Yidaro, Wandering Monster |
Legendary Creature - Dinosaur Turtle (R)
Trample, haste
Cycling
When you cycle ~, shuffle it into your library from your graveyard. If you've cycled a card named ~ four or more times this game, put it onto the battlefield from your graveyard instead. (Do this before you draw.)
8/8

The effect is cute. Not sure how often you can pull off four cyclings (maybe in limited if you can pick up more than one?), but it's still neat.

What a neat mechanic. I do like that the card is decent even if you never live the dream. I'm really not gonna be sad if I hardcast this.

I wonder if Maro hated this card

Why's that?

It's at least three additional shuffles + keeping track of the amount of cycles, and I remember them taking an active stance on reducing both. But then, recently they seem to have been pushing the envelope a lot a more.

All in all, this card - and this set in general - really feel like they would be at home in a digital setting.

Agreed. I felt the same way about crystalline giant, where you need a 10-sided die, and to be able to keep track of which of 10 abilities have already been used. Alot of "memory issues" in this set, best suited for digital.

Honestly, quite a few of the cards I've seen feel like they've been taken straight from the Ymtc section of this forum.

That's unusually efficient for red.
It's nice for a change.

This one has a Godzilla card, which is another form of the big guy himself, specifically the excellent Shin Godzilla.

As for the card, not really going to 'work' in my favorite EDH, but in 60-card with a 4-of... amazing.

I am sucker for Godzilla, I really like that card art. Although that turtle subtype looks weird on the big G.

Yeah, especially when Gamera exists, but of course Gamera isn't Toho, it's a competing Kaiju universe.

I will not like anything about this set unless Gamera shows up. Which he won't, for the reason you give.

Long live Gamera, friend to all children!

And, you know, flying...spinning...fire...turtle...thing.
