I think we're more likely to get a Shock variant on the cheaper side rather than a regular Lightning Strike.

I expect a cheap burn Adventure. In the article where they first talk about Adventure with Gavin, he talks about how they made Curry Favor because red-white Knights and black-red Knights had burn to close out games but not white-black.

Oh I just realized this is further set up for the return of Devotion in Theros. I know we said the same thing on Morbid back in SOI and that didn’t happen but Devotion is popular and iconic so Return to Theros is basically guaranteed to have it

I mean, this is one of those mechanics everyone eventually came up with at some point.

That being said, I like the twist of limiting it to only three mana so you don't get ridiculous situations like needing to spend eight green mana to get the effect or something. Pushes monocolor while not punishing some versatility.

I wish they said "If at least was spent to cast cast ~" instead.

That would read a lot more cleanly.
