See, this kind of stuff annoys me because my daughters like magic, but they hate black cards because they can be 'gross'.

Now I can't buy any of this set to play with them because they will refuse to open them in case they see the faerie with the eyeball.

Maybe theme boosters will fix your problem.

Open the packs yourself, remove all of the Eye Collectors, then give them the rest.

you could play wit them using the non-gross cards, maybe?

can't please everyone in terms of aesthetics, unfortunately. I certainly wouldn't protest to MTG being more accessible, though.

These are all good suggestions. I will run them by them. They wish they could open the boosters, but they were disturbed by some of the past art. My kids are also especially sensitive to dark or negative themes for some reason. No blood, no sudden death. I mean, it's not a big deal, but now that troll card that is eating something under the bridge will turn them off as well. A lot of the black cards that kill creatures (staples in Limited play) get left out and creatures can get out of hand. I'm not bitching per se. Magic is a great game and Wizards has rarely steered me wrong. This time, when I heard it was a Fable set, I became hopeful it wouldn't have too much in the way of grizzly pictures. And really, so far its even pretty light on them, considering how dark most fairy tales are. I'm just making a silly rant.

nah its completely reasonable to be upset that the artistic direction of something you like prevents it from being something you're able to share with your loved ones
