In my experience with the set, monstrify has proven to be very powerful, and this guy is a pretty efficient creature, but I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to this card, because it's in red, which seems to be an aggro color. How have your experiences with this card been?

A: It's monstrosity
B: There are also, for example, the red green midrange decks. This card shines in them. Also, it's only the really aggressive heroic decks in which you should think twice about him. And then play him. He's actually quite good.

I have not played red in this set, but this guy seems like a solid dude. I have played against him. As a 3/3 trample he's not scary (dies to returned phalanx) but the 6 mana clock is worrysome for slower decks.

The uncommon red 4-drops seem lots better. I think there are times when you want this guy and times when you want the borderland minotaur (basically if you have a lord or two) and MOST of the time you don't want all 4 drops. I guess he's a 2-2.5? They seem to go quite late, but no one drafts red in my meta.

I hate playing against him because I usually end up playing a control-based deck so he can beat or go over the top of a lot of things I play turns 4 and 5 and the monstrosity threat is always there. Also, he's still a valid threat turns 8 or 9 because of the monstrosity.

This dude is awesome. Threat of activation has never been sweeter.

This is one of the reasons I don't like control in this format. The removal is crap, and the monsters, even the common ones, are must-answer threats.
