This one was pretty ugly. My son to my right opened Broodmaster Hydra, I opened Eidolon of Blossoms (not a bomb, but the pack wasn't very good), and the guy to my left went UG (not sure what he cracked). The three of us went a combined 2-7, with our only wins against each other. There was another UG drafter (leftys' GF 2 people down).

I knew something was up when I got passed like a pick 10 Bladetusk Boar but there was something decent in BG then so I didn't take it. BNG was so stupidly red I ended up very strongly in red and actually tried to play full on jund.

Yeah, yeah, this sucks, but I thought I would post my POOL because I think there was actually a pretty solid deck in there even if I didn't manage to sort it out. I did have a lot of fixing but almost all of my good cards with double colored.

Bump. Curious to see what decks you guys would make? I mean assuming someone pithed you and you drafted this pile.

Wow, interesting. I just thought my black dudes (other than Harpies) were bad so I never played them.

Match one I went with the full-on Jund with all the double colored cards. I lost a close match one after we split the first two (G1 I flooded, G2 he screwed). G3 I Critically misplayed playing Cyclops at 9 mana when I could have waited a turn and played and monstrosified it in the same turn. It ate a lightning strike (and I knew he had this and fated conflag). Drew nothing but lands after that.

I decided it was too janky and cut all the the black except for gild and feast of dreams. I won match 2 pretty easily but got destroyed by UW heroic in match 3. I did get into a funny situation in M2G2 with both Ember Swallower, Hammer, and like 7 lands + Market Festival in a big board stall. I ended up monstrifying ember because of his Thassa's Ire and he conceded before I got to make any enchantment golems for Eidolon of Blossoms :(

I basically ran 16 lands with 2 fonts, nickel, and Market Festival. I mulliganed a bit more than usual.
Market festival was pretty good with monstrosity and 3 colors.

Basically your deck is OP after T4, so you just play the crappy dudes until you get to T4. I'm OK with the 18 lands, bc the hammer provides inevitability with lands, the swallower likes lots of land, and if you play all your fatties you'll want more and more lands. It's a different approach and you basically just die to aggro, but hopefully you can use your removal/gorgon's head/early drops to stall the game while you play your ridiculous top end.

I think I'd put in Starfall over the Leeches, but it's no big deal either way. Depends on how much you need a blocker on turn four. I'm not a fan of Leeches; it's OK with three swamps and good with more, but in this deck, it could well be a 1/1 on turn four.

Chosen are good, Steed is usable, and so is Sable. All you need from them is to trade with opponent's early drops or combat tricks and save you some damage before your fours come online. In fact, green is the color where you lack early drops. To quote I-forget-who: The importance of two-drops in full-block Theros cannot be overestimated.

And my Hypnotists would just outright kill you :)

Both green and black have 1/1 deathtouchers. That's one reason why I ran RGB. Weaver is better than steed in a defensive role.

But maybe I just liked my green rares.

Your green is bad dude. Eidolon is kinda build-around-me, since its value doesn't necessarily automatically translate to the battlefield. Nylea will never be a creature. You don't have much else to justify playing green. Your BR is amazing and just missing like 2 2-drops or 3-drops... basically any of those 3 5-drops could go and be swapped for something else, including Starfall... most likely Mogis. You should've picked up that G was drying up pack 1.

I get Leeches is actively bad... except it's still a 4-drop. And with 9 swamps it's not impossible to think it could be a 4/4, it's not like it's in your opening hand every game and a measly 2/2 or 1/1 when it comes down most of the time. I think I'd play my deck and use my early creatures to trade or my removal to maintain parity then just win with my numerous bombs.

Please refer to Gorgon's Head and Ill-Tempered Cyclops.

I don't always think, but when I do, I think of everything.
