Since Conspiracy, I've had some interest in developing a Cube, in large part because it would give a place for the conspiracy and draft-matters cards to be useful. I'd dipped my toes in before with designing the "Cube of Horrors" (where Mindless Null is first pick stuff!), but really, I don't actually know how this is done.

One thing I do know, though, is that most cubes are singleton, and that I didn't exactly want that. For one, I wanted to be able to provide support for cards like Howling wolf by providing multiple examples of "commons" that could end up being drafted. For another, there aren't enough unique Conspiracies or draft-matters for me to like going singleton on them I started to sketch out a design of what I'd need in each color, and while the numbers work out niceley, I'm not sure I have enough unique cards planned to make it a good experience

Knowing that singleton is not going to happen, how many unique cardnames would folks recommend as a minimum?

Anything less than 200 unique cards would probably get boring fast unless it was professionally designed.

I would do a 360 cube with a cycle of "cards that care about multiples of itself." 5-10 Squadron hawk, 5-10 accumulated knowledge, 5-10 kindle, 5-10 howling wolf, and something for black. There was a cycle of kindle-like cards in odyssey, and I think there was a creature cycle in Onslaught.
