Well, I got to live the dream last night... but the thing with dreams is that eventually you wake up and have to actually play matches.
P1P1 had a Chromanticore and Akroan Conscriptor. I figured I had to try to go 5-color chromanticore once in my life, and YOLO.
I was shipped Hunter's Prowess P1P2 and almost wet my pants. Guy to my right ended up in green.
Rest of BNG pack was not exciting but 2x Hypnotist was getting me to think UG and I would play other stuff if I got the fixing. 1st THS pack I was getting cut in green (except for a couple dryads passed by the guy in GW?) but got some decent blue. 2nd THS pack I was a little short of creatures but got shipped really good blue spells. Too many in fact.
Luckily they were followed by a bunch of fixing so I was on the Chromanticore train! Choo Choo! Very luckily as my UG deck simply did not have much beyond some powerful spells. I had already mapped out that I probably needed 5 fixing cards to seriously play chromanticore... so I played them. 2 were actually creatures.
Match 1 Game 1 made it all worth while as I went: T3 Unicorn T4 Pharika's Mender swing for 4. T5 Sea God's Revenge T6 bestow Chromanticore swing for 8 flying trample lifelink first strike vigilance.
I even had the T7 ghostblade for over kill but he was down to 8 already so I didn't spoil it.
Game 2 I think I probably should have won had I played a little better. I didn't really misplay but I started with a pretty lose 5 land/dryad/prowess keep. I stuck the hunter's prowess on vaporkin for 5 damage draw 5... but drew 3 more lands. I actually ended up losing this when he bestowed Herald of Torment on Forlorn Pseudamma. I had ghostblade on the vaporkin and he get me for exacties the turn before I got him. Opponent is a very very solid player, and I think *just* managed to out play me.
Game 3 was why this deck was mediocre. The 5 fixing and meh 2 drops means that sometimes you just play for 8 turns and do nothing. Lost to herald and a large number of minotaurs (no sea god to save me this time).
Match 2 I blew out RG - this time I played chromanticore by itself and revenged the following turn he scooped.
Match 3 was against a 4 color guy (who also lost to RB guy). We chopped the 2 packs and played for funsies but my deck didn't do anything and basically lost both games to Thassa's emissary.
Overall I never had any trouble with mana (except for getting flooded keeping 5 lands which I can't really blame on the mana base), and I never needed to crack the Hart (this is not the first time I have had that issue). I suppose I could have cut the hart or or amulet?
I ended up preferring sentry to scrymera but in the end I think I should have played all da 5 drops and cut a hypnotist. I really wanted to play tactics and warrior's lesson - but the fixing just crowded it out.
This deck would have been fantastic -- I think -- if I had omenspeakers instead of hypnotists and maybe another 4 drop, or a nimbus naaid. I did pass a mnemonic wall... and maybe recurring some bounce would have helped a bit. I guess I wasn't quite bomb-y enough or committed to 5 color, but I never ran more than 4 colors (with the 4th being a 1 card splash) in limited and I think I overcorrect on the side of a stable mana base and ended up with not enough raw power.
I like the Oracle's Insight late game on a hypnotist but I never drew it and about 1/2 the time boarded it out for excoriate (which I also never drew)

I more or less agree with all you said. Hypnotist is an aggro card, and you played a late-game bomby deck. You need it for the curve here, but both Omenspeaker or Voyaging Satyr in that spot would be much better. Scorpion, double Dryad, the Guardians, Voyage's End, should be enough for early defense against most decks, and then you should jump to playing five-mana spells.
You have fixing, but not ramp. The hart should always be cracked, unless it can actually trade with something relevant. Anyway, your problem seems to be that you were cut on your main color from both sides. An Asp or another Scorpion would do wonders.
Yeah, after my games I put out my deck and was all... Needs moar asp. Tactics was the last cut, but I figured that i would be in deep trouble if I was blocking anything and no heroic FTW triggers.
With hart, I never actually had the tempo/3 free mana.

I have some success with 5 color, but for the most part I almost always make it a Gx deck valueing cards like swordwise centuar, and such for early threats and run 2 nyleas presence The presences move up imo when I decided to go 5 color and I'll pick them around pick 5 or 6 the decks are heavy green usually a 9 or 10 forest kind of deck I have had the same issue with the hart.
