Some of my buddies and I have taken to doing random pack drafts. What we do is we all have 3 booster packs. The booster packs we get are all random but we all have the same random packs so for example.

One time we ended up drafting

Planar Chaos
Innistrad
Legions

Also a couple rules. No Un packs are allowed. And the pack has to have 15 cards in it.

I figured while waiting for Born of the Gods to come online we could have a little fun with this. You're first pack is...

Pack 1:

Imaginary Pet
Academy Researchers
Shiv's Embrace
Crazed Skirge
Phyrexian Ghoul
Winding Wurm
Drifting Meadow
Goblin Matron
Symbiosis
Opal Gargoyle
Sanctum Custodian
Blood Vassal
Rune of Protection: White
Pendrell Flux
Curfew

I'm fine with either Skirge or Gargoyle. Embrace can be a bomb, but we don't know how much removal we'll find in this Random format, so I'm not so sure about picking an aura.

Opal gargoyle seems pretty exceptional. They kinda have to play creatures to win.

Gargoyle is nice, but it's "just" a Wind Drake. I vote for Crazed Skirge, which has the same stats, has haste, and since I hope that in a random format, black should have the best removal.

Opal gargoyle costs 2, skirge costs four and adds haste

I kinda like skittering skirge. Vampire's Embrace is also boss. I forget how the removal is, but I think I want an Embrace at the moment. I could see people undervaluing skirge and letting it wheel.

It's either embrace or skirge. I don't think skirge has a chance to wheel, but embrace is the more powerful card. My vote goes to embrace.

seems like a pretty big decision. If there is lots of removal, skirge is way better. If there is little, embrace is better. I guess skirge. My reasoning is that if auras are all playable due to the lack of removal, then the strength of the aura doesn't matter so much.

I mean, I'm a huge fan of Urza's Armor. Card is highly underrated.

Either Armor or the Embrace in my opinion.

RB was a thing to be feared in (g)olden times. I love killing critters in response to echo being paid. It's almost like Time Walk.
