P1P1 Phalanx Leader
P1P2 Wingsteed Rider
And then not a single white card AT ALL. Guy to my right was GW, his right was WU. Needless to say, I ended up in RB.
P2P2 Had to choose again between thoughtseize and gray merchant... and took the cash. Probably not even -EV because I only eded up with 5 black permanents MD.
Got back-to-back
Abhorrent Overlord mid pack 3. But never even ran the second one...
Ended up with a deck that punishes any stumbles.

portent of betrayalI actually mained the Sable about half the time but eventually just replaced it with Whip. Having 6 removal spells and a thoughtseize is pretty boss.
Drum roll please...
I went 3-0/6-0 - my first tourney win ever. The only trouble I had was in match one I played a kid who had like 4 voyages' end and 2 griptides and literally timewalked me the the first 4-5 turns. Lucky for me he was running _7_ creatures and although he dropped me down to 3 both games I killed his unblockable voltron both times and beat him down with satyrs. The other two matches were against the Wx decks to my right and I just never let them establish a board presense. One game got a little dicey when he stabilized at 2 with
arbor colossus but I eventually drew an out (sip) and won. That was from a mull to 5.
Probably the worst match up for me was my son's UB control with 2 x
thassa's emissary 2 x
keepsake gorgon 2 x
disciple of phenax, 1x Gary and shipbreaker. Along with 4 removal and a voyages' end. He lost to the GW deck.
Oh, and we cracked a Mutavault (prize packs) and Xenegos as well.
So thanks to all of you who helped me learn to draft and play magic over the last year.
