You need the Lion, Chronicler, Courser, and the two Lessons. The only blue card I'd really like to play is the Hoplite, but it's not worth it. I'm not even sure about the Griffin, but there are no early drops worth playing over it. You might go to 16 lands, but you need to get to four quickly, so I think it's better to go with 17.

That is exactly what I built. I did think it was a real decision between battle wise+voyages+vaporkin+2 fixing cards and the 5 worst white cards. In then I thought the deck was good enough to not risk a third color. Also not ordeals for the vaporkin.

I went 2-1. With 5 blowout game wins. I lost game 2 and 3 to a solid UB control in match 2. That was still a close match, considering I mulled to 5 in game 2 and game 3 went to turn 5 after time.

The griffon(s) are essential late game tools. I lost game 2/match 2 because he killed both griffons and both wing steed riders. I think I misplayed these games a little, under estimating his late game removal. I used the gods willing too early to force some damage in early. But I got stalled by returned phalanx pretty badly. I should also say he was mana screwed game 1 and did nothing.

Pod was won by the somewhat better WU heroic deck. He had spear and more bestow guys.
