I have heard that this is the slowest set. I had to look it up but it appears that Artisan is the best of the non-rare Eldrazi.

Preserver seems pretty useful though. Lightmine field might work if we have a gajillion spawn tokens.

Preserver stops anhillator but then dies to chumping and removal. Read field again, it doesn't do what you think. And yes the format is super slow, has big splashy spells, good ramp and some neat little guys. I love drafting thus set. Artisan isn't just one of the best non rares it's one of the best eldrazi.

This was one of my favorite draft formats. :)

Artisan is good if you live long enough to cast him.
Pawn of Ulamog is quite good.
Scorpion does work -- remember, Walls was a theme -- but isn't first-pickable.
Vent Sentinel is a win condition in the Wall deck.
Champion's Drake is very good if you get a Venerated Teacher or two.

I'd say grab the Drake and force levelers. It's the only playable blue card in the pack, it's the only Level card in the pack, and we'll put the next couple of people in archetypes we don't compete with for cards.

Levelers are spread across too many colors I think it would be a mistake. If we force and fail to get fixing we will just flop is there even fixing in roe?

Artisan is roughly the best card in a pretty weak pack.

Drake is probably a close second though, because the aggro level up flyer deck is pretty strong in this slow format.

I think Artisan is the pick here though, because it leaves us a bit more open color-wise, and is a really good card.

Both Artisan and Drake have the same problems. If we force and fail, they are dead. Blue is actually the best color for levelers, it can pair with either white or black. I agree that if we want levelers, we should stick to two colors.

Kozilek's predator

We went the big guys route, we need acceleration. Hand is actually a bad Eldrazi, low both on power and annihilation.

Since we took the Artisan, the pick here is the Predator.

This pack is pretty good all-around though. Predator, Heat Ray, Brimstone, and Umbra are all quite good, and a few more cards are playable.

I kinda want to stay on color and take Ondu Giant, even if it isn't the best card in the pack.

Vendetta

For me, it's too early to marry a color and pick an OK card over prime removal.

Yep, def want that vendetta that'll deal you 8 damage.

That was sarcasm. Think it is Ondu Giant, unless tuktuk token is indestructible, then you take him.

Really wish we had forced walls. That was my pet deck.

IIRC, Vendetta is the best removal in this block. When it's eight damage or lose the game, you take eight damage. More so if the other guy spent all his resources to play that Eldrazi, which then dies at instant speed and leaves him with nothing.

Ondu Giant is a legitimate pick, no problems if we end up with that. You just need a better reason than saying "Vendetta is bad", because that is not true.
