Going into Battle for Zendikar (which I probably won't draft until it's online), I'm planning on taking Evolving Wilds over everything except bombs. It's somewhat of an experiment, but here are the points I feel that give it potential:
That's what I'm gonna try out. I'll tell you how it goes. Tell me what you think of the idea and share any outlandish draft strategies you've tried before. (I always forced Grixis in full block Alara. Sometimes that ended up Esper-or-Jund-colored Grixis, but I always did it and always loved it.) |

There is a three-mana ramp spell that puts a land on the battlefield. And a two-mana pump that lets you play another land. And a land that sacs to put two lands onto the battlefield. All green, all instant-speed. I just had a great experience with the four-mana converge white token maker, paired with the white Retreat. All in all, I don't think you will be the only one picking Wilds early. I may try for five-color Allies some time. |

I don't think I could pick Wilds over removal. ~SE++ |

I'd probably pick it over some removal, but not unconditional removal in my colors. The interesting thing is picking wilds over removal opens up your ability to splash for other removal |
