I don't think we can take a white card here as the two black options are much stronger (I do think however one can draft mono or nearly mono with success).

This is only P1p2 we don't even know if white is open yet and we shouldn't pick our second pack because we might want . Therefore the clear pick for me is Flesh to Dust

Sadist isn't that great in limited (She's slower than Triad of Fates, which is already painfully slow, for Yawgmoth's Sake), but covenant is too good to pass up for a swiftclaw.

I don't know for sure that Black is open -- Covenant is a card people could be BADLY underrating, since it's easy to underestimate what Convoke can do.

Cruel Sadist at its worse is a 2/2 for one with echo that can kill an x/1.

That's good.

Covenant is better, but don't overlook sadist.

What the man said. It is a growing creature, even if it never kills anything. And it's rare, while Covenant is common. And this pack is very strong, I really like the Shaman.

I like covenant as a finisher. With convoke it usually costs about 4 or 5 meaning that provided you aren't dying on the back swing it's pretty good. Cruel Sadist is great early game but not a good late draw. I'm not sold on it.
