Disciple of Deceit

Hubris is the best blue common, and a very strong signal. Nothing wrong with picking that. But I kinda like the idea of tutoring for my bombs, specially as I should be able to play them the turn I search them out. But I'll switch to Hubris if for some reason something else (can't imagine what) would edge out both of these.

If we do pick up the Disciple, we should get a Font of Return later on; those should go late.

Take a chance on Disciple. Passing that Hubris hurts though.

I like Hubris.

Disciple seems extremely hard to play properly. In fact, I don't think in a draft I would have memorized my deck well enough to play it perfectly (is that the opposite of Hubris?). And you have to tap it somehow, I guess at least it doesn't die to a 2/2. In raw power disciple's probably the best card though.

I like hubris or oppressive rays. Removal is removal.

No love for Thassa's Ire? The ability to effect your own Inspired cards, give a kind of pseudo-vigilance to your attackers, or tap an opposing creature, especially in this environment of 'suiting' up one creature seems good, even at four mana.

Thassa's Ire is the card i might take AFTER disciple. Not before. Rays is pretty good but Hubris is better.

Hubris is an unsommon with a bit of downside/upside. But Unsummon is still good in this format.

Ire costs WAY too much to be useful. If it were CMC 1U and cost 1U or 2U to activate, I'd be more interested.

If not Hubris, then I would want Opressive Rays or Armament of Nyx.

I kinda like the boar here. But I could take the hind or the starfall.

I love UG, so Hind. Boar is tempting, but all the good red is in pack 2. No telling if we will get any.

Acceleration got better with Strive around. Most strive cards should win the game at three, and we have two quite good ones.

And of people being surprised by how much useful pin to the earth was, troughs?

But mana dork+hour of need is pretty good too.

Golden Hind is probably the best Green common and it's still in the pack. I want to take it and see what happens.
