I have to admit that I played a little with Hedron Crawler and I cut it. Being unable to block a scion is pretty bad.
I did have 3 of the blue 2/3 pseudodorks. I wasn't even ramping and I didn't even have that much in the way of colorless reqs.

I drafted Saturday night and had a blue/black control deck splashing green with two Hedron Crawler's. They were great for me.

I would want to see your deck list to see why unblocked scion's were so critical. I wanted to ramp though, plus I had use for the colorless mana so that is probably why they were much better for me. I had 5 different ways to "draw" cards.

Baloth Null
Deepfathom Skulker
Prophet of Distortion
Comparative Analysis
Kiora, Master of the Depths

I ended up running 18 lands, both Crawler's, and a Cultivator Drone. 21 mana sources were right in this deck, I had such a high curve.

I ended up 2-1, losing 2-1 to a green/white/red equipment/support deck. He made really big creatures that I was unable to deal with. I had no problem in my other two matches.

Visions of Brutality caused the draw.

That shouldn't cause a draw, though. The damage is dealt, and then Visions of Brutality triggers, but by that point the defending player has presumably lost the game.

I just meant it didn't EVEN block a scion. It's, in fact, not really a creature at all... just kind of easy-to-kill signet that fixes for colorless instead of with it.

I spent most of the day Sat. on Cockatrice drafting "not blue"

Deck 1 was RG splash black for 2x Baloth Null. This deck was OK, 5 2 drops and 2 combat tricks (including 4/4 land jumper)
Decks 2-3 were Naya Allies (RWg) after P1P1 Isolation Zone. They were bad
Deck 4 was also (Mardu) allies (WBr) jumping into black after P2P1 Kalitas (and also P1P1 Isolation Zone!) Even Kalitas couldn't save this deck.(although I lost game 3 by not playing around 2 combat tricks after I had finally turned the corner).

Deck 4 ended up with a couple incidental black devoid cards in them and a single colorless source.

I *think* Wx allies is OK, but I think you need 2 drops + support otherwise you just get ground out late game because all your dudes are terrible.

For some reason every deck I draft in this format (Devoid or No) I end up playing 3-4 "colors". This kind of makes sense with Devoid/Blue because you are always going to want at least 3 colorless sources. But I find Allies needing to splash for power as most of the commons are so terribad.

Or maybe it's me.
