Returned Phalanx. If you're in both colors (and we are) it's surprisingly effective.

I like the synergy we have between the Singer, Eidolon, Phalanx and Disciple.

I'll switch my vote to Returned Phalanx then!

Returned Phalanx, though I do think we need to pick up a few fatties sooner or later, otherwise the only big creatures we'll have will be whatever we use our bestow cards on...

Scholar is an excellent finisher. prescient chimera is OK, but is not what we want. The other uncommon blue fattie is sealock octopus... also .

I am sure we can scoop all the phalanxi in pack 3.

Benthic giant. Which happens to be the best card in draft.

Phalanx is critical in this kind of deck. We're not going to get to play scholar if we don't survive the early game. Phalanx protects us early, gives more black devotion and can be an actual threat later on.

I like the Horizon Scholar a lot, but Phalanx is the pick.

2 Mana 3/3's are solid blockers early game, and can shift to attack sometimes too.

Vaporkin

I think it's more a case of blue being very dry in pack 1, so I don't see people on our left being in blue, hence why we're seeing some pretty solid blue pack 2.

+1 vaporkin.

Of which we have none.

I'm tempted slightly by Scourgemark, because enchantrips are good. But in the end, vaporkin is better.

Yay! I hope this enters mtg parlance so I can leave a semi-permanent mark.
