I agree, this is a terrible pack and Hind is a decent pick.

Too bad the gold tokens aren't enchantment artifacts... I think lampad is the best card here for our King. We might not play it, but if we can make it work....

Golden Hind for me. I'm not wedded to either of our first two picks and this is the best card in the pack.

No one's going to talk about Aerial Formation here? It's worth mentioning.

Depends on how Timmy we feel, I suppose. I like the idea of guardian as a good blocker that provides inevitability, but there seemed to be a general assumption in the previous pack that the hind is balls awesome.

[b[Armament[/b] is the best card in the pack IMO. Double-strike is insane. Removal is pretty sweet. Also, there's not a lot of green in this pack, which raises some concerns. BW seems to be open.

Golden Hind

I agree that Armament is probably the better card. But the format should slow down, and GB should be one of the better decks. That deck needs accelerators, and picking early accelerators that can also trade with opposing early drops is IMHO better than picking Voyaging Satyrs. High-mana critters and removal can be had later. The other option are Chosen and the unspellable one, but those are less important than accelerators.

Considering Armament... This is triple JOU, right? There are 23/65 common & uncommon creatures that are also enchantments. (Whole block is 40/227).

Man, I don't know. Pick 4 I don't think we can claim "openness"... except that I think Hind is the best green common, and it's not been picked.

My gut says Hind, and look to settle on B or W next pick.

For triple JOU, Grim Gardian probably wouldn't be bad... reminds me of that botched draft I got 3 grim guardians in JBT.

I'm biased for Armament of Nyx.

I wish we had taken the Lampad. That plus the guardian here lets us eke out advantage, plus the armaments... wow.

Hind is good, but it fails to do what I absolutely want out of my mana dorks. Provide me 3 mana turn 2. At the cost of 2, it saps your turn two play, and probably leaves you nothing good turn 1 either. While technically it leaves you 1 mana ahead over all, the percentages are important. Assuming you hit your land drops, a turn 1 dork provides you a 100% mana increase. Three mana turn two is 50% more than your opponent. A turn two dork provides a 50% increase and 33% more mana than your opponent.

I think the pick here is Guardian for all the reasons RSTNME stated.

There are a number of powerful cards in this pack. The three best ( though there are about 4 or 5 I'd be okay taking 3-6th pick) are Mogis's Warhound, Pharika's Chosen, and Golden Hind.

I think it really depends on what kind of deck we want. Green Ramp, Red Aggressive, or Black Control?

The big thing here is that I'm not entirely sure what big green things there are to ramp into off the top of my head in a JOU JOU JOU draft. But we already have one Golden Hind, so I can't see a reason not to take the second, even though I am preferable to the aggressive Warhound for our deck.

Shiny Butt is my pick.
