We may actually pull off that white splash.

Easy. For a split second I considered Ephara's Warden.

Hoplite, obv.
This is pretty much the oddest draft ever. Well, at least it will be fun to make a deck.

We have 5-7 white cards (1 targeter)
We have 5-7 red cards not including double red (2 targeters). I didn't count lightning volley either.
We have 5-7 blue cards (2 targets + bestow). Didn't count floodtide serpent... but possibly there is a UW build that leaves him in as a curve topper.

We have a springleaf drum... but the only splashable cards are maybe Fall of the Hammer, Griptide, and Nyxborn Triton... maybe Portent of Betrayal and Akroan Conscriptor?

We have 3 awesome white heroes we have to play, and plenty of filler creatures. I guess we just take targeting spells in URW and see what happens? We could also pick up a traveler's amulet. Unicorn seems bad in this deck.

Woah hold your horses everyone.

We have 3 decent white cards (Leader, Wingsteed and Glimpse). Two of those are double white, which you want to play at least 10 plains (making white your primary colour). Otherwise white is incredibly weak in our picks so far.

I hate to say this but if we want to have any change of a good deck WE ARE NOT PLAYING WHITE. I say again

WE ARE NOT PLAYING WHITE

To have any chance here we need to be red blue. So the pick here is between Dragon Mantle and Aqueous Form. Both are great cards that work well with our deck but I think Aqueous Form is better as we are more midrange than aggro.

Well, in real life, yes. But this is fantasy, and it costs us nothing to try for a white deck. I don't think we have any double-red or double-blue we want to play, so I'd like to see if white is doable after such a bad start.

But then, this is last pack, and I can do that regardless of what we end up picking. I don't mind if we don't pick the Hoplite, but I'll stay with my choice.

Reasonable point about the double white cards.... I sort of glossed over that. The thing is it's not that we have 3 "decent" white cards - our 3 best cards (including hoplite here) are white, and glimpse is probably top 5 or 6. Our RU deck sucks, and it almost certainly going to suck unless we get passed a bunch of lightning strike plus nutty blue cards (v-end/griptide/nimbus naiiad/vaporkin).

If we end UR, not having a Mantle or a Form wont make or break our deck, but if we do manage to grab enough playables to play W, we're going to miss that Hoplite pretty hard.

Hoplite.

We're now in pack 3. We really haven't lost out on that much good white.
