I used to think Splinters was bad, since you were 2-for-1'ing yourself. Then I was confronted with a cavalcade of removal that amounted to "worse/more finicky versions of Bone Splinters" and the fact that even those shoddy knock-offs were essentially good. So yeah, learned the value of this one for sure. Bone Splinters is the pick.

It's definitely an interesting card, from a theoretical point of view. Obviously it's a stupendous card if you sac a free token (from Pyromancer or whatever). But even in limited it's as cheap a trade up as you can get. A lesson in card quality.

Yes, Splinters. Got to support our first pick. And it's a good card regardless.

I'm not in love with splinters without token outlets, but we've got the Dragger so that's something. and we've still got plenty of time and 2/3rds of Jund to grab some dragon fodder and pals.

Sure, lets keep picking Jund cards for our Grixis deck. Pack is pretty void, though, so fine.

Splinters.

That's the beauty of Alara.

I like Vectis Silencers here, but Dregscape is probably okay.

Silencers is good for a slow format; dregscape is good for our deck so far. I like both picks, but this is a slow format so I'll lean more toward silencers.

Vectis Silencers are so expensive. 3 for a1/2? And another 3 for deathtouch for 1 turn?

I might be spoiled by Giant Scorpion, but Vectis Silencers is just laughably bad imo.

Cards like that are generally "what a crappy card that I need to spend 6 mana to make good."

But then again we're probably playing 18 lands and this is supposedly a notoriously slow format and, if I remember right, we're currently in the worse colors.

Anyone else who's played the format wanna add their $.02?

I've not played it... But there is something to be said for stealing wins with pikers in slow formats.

Zombie. Our sac outlets make Unearth better.

Dregscape. Moar Unearth is Moar better.

was really hoping this would be an obvious pick so I could say Moss-Beast again, but since there's some contention I'm gonna have to throw down with Dregscape. Dregscape is good.

I too remember falling behind early and not getting back. Remeber the 5/4 for three mana? Or the 3/3 that leaves three guys behind? Silencers seems too slow. Not bad, but we don't have the defense we need for the Silencers to matter.

Outrider bc it affects the board the turn it comes down and exalted is legit. A 5/1 just trades down.
