Today was the first day of BNG online. I joined a sealed tournament, and this is what I opened:

Spoiler

The deck should be pretty obvious; still, I'll put it in the spoiler for those of you who want to build the pool.

Spoiler

I made a few choices I wouldn't make again, but overall, I was quite happy with how this one played. Match one, game three, my opponent had Whip of Erebos, Agent of the Fates, and an active Phenax, God of Deception in play. We were both at about 10 life. Two turns later, I won the game. I lost the second match to the pod winner, mostly to Fabled Hero, and won the other two matches to go 3-1.

All of my opponents played blue; two were UW, two UB; one of the UW players splashed black for the new Siren. Enchantment removal won me more games than anything else in the pool. The big flyers mostly died or traded. Voltron is still the name of the game.

Tomorrow, I'm off to the internet-free skiing wilderland. See you in a week.

Dem some blue bombs. I guess we can skip 'kratis as a 7 drop, but I like Archetype over Dreamfinder. I kinda think you should run BOTH Archetypes but maybe I'm wrong (haven't played with or against the card yet)

I am also not totally sold on serpent with only 2 enchantrips. I guess he holds down the ground (water)

11 black creatures (12 including warcaller) in the pool and no way would I run Black.

I am going skiing up at North Lake Tahoe. Gonna be crowded.

I was happy with my creatures, but I think I should have played Sudden Storm over Retraction Helix. I played the Helix for the heroes and the inspired rare, but the heroes were attacking all the time, and you can't use the Helix on a critter with summoning sickness. Voyage's End was strangely unsatisfying. Hero of Iroas is a powerhouse, and could be a first pick in draft. And both white and blue Nyxborn are really good.

You should definitely maindeck all enchantment removal you open. This may be skewed a bit since I haven't seen a single red or green spell played the whole tournament, but still.
