I think this will be the first cube to use phantom points instead of fake cube dollars, which is neat because your fake cube dollars can then be used for phantom drafts.

Cube also has some changes to it, but I can't find a comprehensive list of it. Just looking, some things from Theros are in (Spear, Erebos, Firedrinker Satyr, Soldier of the Pantheon) and some things are out (I really remember Creeping Tar Pit and Celestial Colonnade being in there before). Had also thought that they had taken out Sword of Light and Shadow + Feast and Famine since black just cannot deal with those, but looks like they are in.

Some of the new Commander cards are in too, notably True-Name Nemesis because **** you blue gets to have unkillable unblockable clocks as well as Ancestral Recall and Time Walk. Hope you have wraths.

Rewards for the cube this time around look to be Mercadian Masques packs to go along with the flashback drafts they're doing of MM. Now that is a weird format I'm willing to bed not many of us have played.

The only friend I have who is also doing it is a man I cannot fight because he has been on pro tours and consistently crushes me.

Whenever I play with pro tour players I just get them drunk. That seems to help me win.

Last time cube was up you could use phantom points. I know this because I won a phantom modern master's draft that got me 500 phantom points and I got to play a ton of cube for free.

Let me look for the list of cube changes for you because they usually post them on dailymtg. I remember reviewing them when they posted it.

I'm excited for triple masques. The format seems really skill intensive because the creature quality is pretty low and removal heavy. It'll be interesting. Plus you get to play the Rishadan Port/Misdirection lottery which is wonderful.

I have 160 something phantom points left so I'm going to be drafting cube on stream so I have 10 drafts plus whatever else I get back from winnings so it should be interesting. I thoroughly enjoy the MTGO cube and I really like that they update it all the time and try new stuff out. It's a great time all around and I get to play with a lot of powerful cards that either aren't viable in competitive formats or I just don't have access to.

Ah, last cube was the phantom points one. I actually missed out on that one.

I dunno how skill intensive old magic is, back when creatures sucked and spells were good. With Masques if you're in blue you're fine and even better if you're also in black.

Well, I say Masques is skill intensive because all of the creatures do nothing except Rebels which search for other guys who don't really do anything. Blue is strong in the set but if you go through Masques, White and Black are also very strong. There are a lot of powerful commons in all colors and removal in all colors so sticking a threat and riding it isn't super plausible. You're going to have to chip away a lot. Combat in Magic is one of the harder parts especially when all of the creatures suck. Reminds me of M14 where there are a lot of big butts so attacking through boards is pretty terrible. Probably why I think [c]Rishadan Airship[c] is one of the best blue commons. I would def try the format out because it looks like a lot of fun and you're not going to get a lot of free wins.

The draft was weird, first-picked Dark Confidant and got Sun Titan pick two as just the most powerful card in the pack in the abstract. Was white/green with Fleecemane Lion and Knight of the Reliquary before it became apparent I was just mono-white.

I passed two gush by mistake but they're down from 9 tix to 3.5 tix so it's okay. Got 2 submerge, daze, and flame rift from my drafts though which is fine.

think I might give it a try sometime when I actually feel like using MTGO again.

I listen to Limited Resources and hearing them talk about it makes me wanna try it
