I punted an un-losable game.
I had crawling sensation, epitaph golem, and an unbreakable defense.
Was beating down with Mindwrack Demon. Get him down to 4. He manages to rabid bite it with a pumped quilled wolf.

No biggee... I just have to churn through my library and use Golem to put Demon on top (can you see what's coming?).

I put it on top, draw it, put 2 cards on top, cast mindwrack demon... and mill 4 and die.

Even better, I would have won the game by just putting lands on top of my library as opponent had maybe 6 cards left himself (he had an active ulvenwald mysteries)

By the way, ulvenwald mysteries completely blanks Morkut Necropod (my other win con).

Just why do you die? Not having cards in the library to mill does not lose you the game. And I guess you had Delirium. So did you double-punt :)

I was thinking he put the cards on top of his library before the demon's effect resolved and died in the next upkeep because he was tapped out.

Yes, but you untap before you draw, so you can use the Golem to put something on the top. The only way I see would be if the opponent forced him to draw with an empty library, and he was tapped out.

Oh, wait if you mill X and have X-1 cards in your library nothing happens? Ha, TRIPLE punt. Got rolled in game 2 anyway.

Wow I am glad I posted this.

Time for the shame tattoo:

Quote:
104.3c If a player is required to draw more cards than are left in his or her library, he or she draws the remaining cards, and then loses the game the next time a player would receive priority. (This is a state-based action. See rule 704.)

Ugh...I had three cards left in deck with a reasonable shot at killing the opponent in those three turns (they weren't winning any way besides drawing me out thanks to Ongoing Investigation netting me approximately a billion life). I cast Bloodbriar and am dismayed I can't sac the 6 or so clues I have. Vessel of Nascency in hand...a quick check and YES! I don't have to draw a card, it says may! This seals it, I can definitely win if Bloodbriar is 3/4! I cast and crack, my opponent chats "You just lost the game."

Totally forgot the remaining cards go into the yard :(...

Funny thing is that we had to look up the comp rules for exactly that circumstance the last time I drafted Conspiracy 2 because the rest of the table wasn't sure when I said the player (who won the game thanks to it) was alive with an empty library and had until the next time someone or something made him draw (The end of his turn, due to being the Monarch). Honestly, "You are still alive at 0 cards" has been with me so long that I'm constantly shocked by how many players, even ones that aren't what you'd call 'new', don't realize that you only lose when you attempt to draw a nonexistent card. Like, Leveler exists and you need a chance to do something about that exiled library problem... and then I remember Leveler was north of 10 years ago now and feel old.
