Planeswalker Dossier: Larasa Farleth and Morgan of Voor
Larasa and Morgan are the last survivors of the plane of Taramir, a world that was by their time lightless and overrun by horrors. When Taramir finally collapsed, Larasa and Morgan’s sparks both ignited in the sudden exposure to the Blind Eternities. Finding each other where they ‘landed’, they have traveled together ever since.
Physical Descriptions
As Planeswalkers, Larasa is no less than 14 years old, and Morgan no less than 16. As of the “Present” of the Magic multiverse, they should be more like 18 & 20. At the outset, Larasa was mature for her age, being physically an adult and near her full height.
Larasa and Morgan share some physical traits, a general phenotype for their home plane after the sun vanished: Their skin is very pale, to a degree that might be off-putting to some. Their eyes are wide, and of light color (Larasa’s are blue, Morgan’s amber), and very sensitive to bright light while being significantly better than average humans at seeing in very low light.
Larasa is taller than an average woman and athletically built. Her hair is jet black, decently long, and usually unkempt. She favors very practical clothes: Leather trousers and a leather bodice over a plain woolen shirt.
Morgan is average height or perhaps a little shorter than an average man (the same height as Larasa). His hair is medium-brown, short, and usually kept decently well combed. He favors simple, comfortable clothes including a greatcoat that mimics the robes of office of his former order.
Personalities
Morgan has a well practiced “cool and reserved” approach to the world. Trained never to interfere, only to watch, he is capable of, at least, stepping back and taking a rational approach to the world, applying logic and a little forethought when Larasa is prone to rush in where angels fear to tread. However, he’s still very dedicated to actually doing something with his knowledge and capabilities, bitter that the Lorekeepers of Voor never did anything with their knowledge. He’s soft-spoken a lot of the time, but has very strong beliefs that don’t waver: he’s incredibly devoted to anyone he considers a friend (and especially to Larasa), and while he’s slow to anger he’s also very slow to forgive.
Larasa, on the other hand, presents a fierce and fiery face to the outside world: she’s loud, energetic, and would seem to be a strongly independent person, going by how little respect she tends to give to authorities and how little she listens when someone “in charge” tells her what she can and can’t do. But, if she’s fearless, it’s because she’s driven by worse. Some of what Larasa saw and experienced in her journey through darkened Taramir has stuck with her, and will probably haunt her for the rest of her life. She fights in the whole way, and will essentially only let Morgan see where she is at her lowest points
In general, the pair compliment each other well – Morgan tempers Larasa, and Larasa brings out the best in Morgan. Each leans on the other for some extra strength when times are trying, and they’re vastly more stable and strong together than either of them alone.
Magic
Larasa is a master of the elements – Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. This is lensed through the fact that her magic is entirely Red and Green – she’s strongest with fire and earth, followed by air and finally water. All her magic is very raw and primal, and when she summons creatures they’re always elementals. (Fire Elemental and Tornado Elemental would likely be good calls, thematically, though depending on how one measures Planeswalker power they might be above her limit. Spells like Tremor, Fireball and Squall would be essential.)
Morgan, on the other hand, has magic focused on information and defense, and his style is very formal and ritualized. On the blue side Morgan is very good at the remote viewing sort of scrying, as well as divination. The white side of his magic would focus on wards and circles, mostly protective and always precise: Circle of Protection: Red and Oblivion Ring are good examples of what he could manage (remember: O-Ring is inherently temporary)
History
See Before the Dawn. To summarize, Larasa lived in a place called the Grand Fortress, where humanity’s greatest population stayed isolated but safe. Morgan was the apprentice of the last Lorekeeper of Voor, an order dedicated to watching (but not interfering) with the world and recording its history. When the stars began to go out, both Morgan and Larasa left their homes, traveling across the bleak landscape of eternal night. At last, the plane collapsed, and they found each other while falling through the Blind Eternities, arriving side by side on a foreign plane…
