Welcome EVERYONE to the Peanut Gallery. Feel free to comment, spectate, etc. as you check in. Our first match: Elayne, as sponsored by the inexplicably difficult to pronounce RSTNME! vs. Nebbin, as sponsored by the much easier to pronounce Garren_Windspear! The rules: 1. The first character to drop their opponent to 0 hit points wins. 2. No action points allowed! That's it! Enjoy! |

It seems unrealistic that Elayne would hear your sneaking with the crowd roaring, so for the sake of realism/RP i'll have the crowd die down at the end of Elayne's turn. |

*looks at both characters abysmal Perception scores* ...and thus the area fight was cancelled when both competitors died of old age groping around blind trying to find the other guy. Although I think this would be a good time to discuss just how we're going to handle Stealth in this situation. I mean we both know exactly where the other guy is but that's entirely OOC knowledge. I guess it's first to roll a Perception checks to beat the other's stealth? |

That is an issue, and I suppose that is the only way to go about it. It's also possible to invent ways to draw the enemy out. It's why I was considering, in the event of our matchup, including Monsters in the scenario. Because otherwise we're just going to be prowling around. |

Although checking the maths again your passive perception already beats my stealth so your pretty much good to go there. But yeah two stealth oriented characters in a match like this is going to be interesting. Edit: Right I've stuck my head out and couldn't see you. You can see me and attack from your current position (with combat advantage no less) but I would gain cover. Effectively the cover and CA cancel each other out. This is going to sting isn't it? |

Just to confirm before I roll, Elayne's passive perception is enough to know where Nebbin is, and the cover is around a corner, so it's a -2 to attack. Cool? I mean, were Elayne to shift out from behind the tree |

No penalty. The cover makes it a -2 penalty but I can't see you so you have combat advantage (+2 bonus). Effectively they cancel each other out so it's just a straight roll. Incidentally if I take damage from your attack I'll be using 'Fade Away' to turn invisible afterwards. Take that into consideration when you make your actions kay? |

Absolutely. So, I will be rolling for attack: Hunter's Bear Trap: Attack: Dexterity vs. AC (ranged) Hit: 2W + Dexterity modifier damage (ranged), and the target is slowed and takes ongoing 5 damage (save ends both). Miss: Half damage, no ongoing damage, and the target is slowed until the end of your next turn. So that's +4 for Dex, +2 for Level, and +2 for Frost Bow, +1 for Prime Shot, +2 Combat Advantage, and -2 Cover, for a total of +9 attack versus DC 19, dealing 2d10+4 (Dex) +2 (Bow) +2 (Bracers) +1d6 Hunter's Quarry. |

So that's 23 damage, and Nebbin is slowed and takes ongoing 5 damage (save ends) and then basically vanishes, right? Ouch! |

Post subject: | Re: [D&D 4e] PvP THE PEANUT GALLERY |
Well that sucks entirely. I'm on 14 hit points and its been one round! Let's see if I can't end this right here right now! Also for next time you probably want to mention what power you used on me. I mean I assume you basic ranged attack doesn't also slow and deal ongoing damage right? Also I assume it's save ends both effects? |

Post subject: | Re: [D&D 4e] PvP THE PEANUT GALLERY |
So that's a grand total of 23 damage and you are immobilized until the end of my next turn and take a -2 penalty to your will defense. In addition I have a +2 bonus to all my defenses. Good but it doesn't quite cut it. Could have really used a critical hit there to end this right then. |

Ah yeah I'll post in the IC the power I use next time. I think the save ends both? Eek! |

Yeah, my Splintering Shot is 3d10+8 and you take half on a miss. However, with Elven Accuracy, I get two chances. I could roll badly, though, in which case you basically win. Maybe we shouldn't allow dailies? Ha. |

rstnme wrote: Elayne is readying action: Splintering Shot. Trigger: Nebbin becomes visible to her. Err rstnme. I am visible to you. My invisibility and stealth both ended when I shot you with Dread Star. You might want to go back and just shoot me with that attack. |
