A Few Notes On Post Formatting
Here's a few points on post formating just to keep things similar and easy for everyone to follow along with whats going on.
- To the greatest extent possible, keep OoC questions and comments in the OoC thread but if something is placed in an IC post please use spoiler tags. - Please begin your posts with your character's name bolded. If you wish to also make this a link to your character sheet, you may. - Your mechanical actions such as attacks, skill checks, and spells should be tucked into a spoiler block. - Remember the forums will not let you edit rolls once you hit submit. Please double check your numbers before posting. If for some reason you mess up your dice put the bad rolls in a separate spoiler at the end of your post and label it. - Some people choose to have spoken text be colored so that it stands out more, feel free to pick a 'speech color'
Your post should look something similar to this:
Quote:
Rook Deadeye
Drawing his sword from his belt, the half-orc glares at the small lizardlike creature emerging from the underbrush. Sweat drips from his brow from the beating mid-day sun and runs along the wicked scar in his cheek. He grins a toothy half smile and starts to charge."You've made your last mistake vermin!"

The Story So Far
Spoiler
Prologue Neverwinter Nights
Six adventurers from various upbringings and walks of life have each recieved a letter from a mutual acquaintance. Gundren Rockseeker, an ambitiois and enterprising young dwarf, invited the group to join him at the Driftwood Tavern in the city of Neverwinter where he explained that they would be responsible for escorting a wagon full of provisions to the town of Phandalin, keeping it safe from the bandits along the road. Not letting on any further details about what his newest opportunity might by, the dwarf and his escort rode on ahead to prepare things in advance, leaving the group to enjoy a warm meal and make their introductions before setting out on their journey the next morning.

EDIT: Those things are used for what, exactly? I have yet to read the whole book.
They are used for flavor, more than anything. Maybe its a trophy you acquired somehow? maybe you found it in the trash? That's up to you to give it history and at least some significance. The DM might add to that significance at a later time.
I think I found a mistake in my character sheet. My Int bonus is +0, but my skills are treating it as though it was +2? I'm not sure if this is a mistake left over from when I was adjusting my attributes or if I'm just too tired and missing something obvious.

Nothing that I can see. I'm checking a few things out but I'm not entirely sure what's causing it. Maybe the sheets internal math has broken?

I doubt it is the sheet. I don't think it does those automatically. I probably just forgot to change it after I was done adjusting my stats. I'll fix it shortly.

Really looking forward to this. As I said at the start while familiar with Dnd I've never actually played it either pen and paper or PBP. So it will be a learning experience with regard to the whole process. If ever I do something out of step just let me know and I'll fix it! Also open to suggestions or thoughts! Otherwise all set.

Not particularly an expert, but if I could give a hint it would be this. "Don't get stoked." PBP is so slow that any anxious person will only disappoint himself.
