So seeing the amount of people wanting into it and the two games that will be running the same module reminded me of something I've wanted to run for a while now. Two groups, one DM, one dungeon. Sorta like a maze of traps, monsters and hazard (ToH style but not as deadly) with the two groups competing to get through the dungeon first (obviously starting at different entrances) to be the first to the central treasure room to claim the prize. Run it in two IC threads to avoid confusion with one OOC so both groups can chat and smack talk each other. Could be a fun little project.

Biggest issue of course would be finding a way to ensure a more active group (in terms of posting habits) doesn't blitz past the other simply because of that. Perhaps an internal dungeon clock to keep people from getting too far ahead?

I was totally going to suggest a little competition between the two games we're setting up...

I've actually considered doing this. I havent put anything down as far as planning it out but I though about coverting the Blackrock Depths or Blackrock Spries dungeons from WoW into a two party mega dungeon.

You're right about party speed, it was one of my major concerns, but I was wondering it it would spur people on to be faster. I also wondered about somehow making it so that the players all ended up at the final boss together and it was some sort of epic 10 man fight with a big baddie and tons of small trahs mobs to fend off.

- - - - - -

Semi related note, but I did actually just help set up a 5e game on another site thats running three 5 man groups through the same mega mansion and using one OoC thread.

Things are picking up around here. Its nice to see some 5e games in the PBP area.

I look forward to seeing the Hoard of the Dragon Queen modules at some point but I'm also curious to see what sort of custom games people will come up with.

Twin 5e Lost Mine of Phandelver games. A Call of Cthulhu game. Coalition War Game has started.

We've escaped from Amarath and hit level 10. Zau Gwai isn't as good at lock picking as he thinks. People have entered the Tomb of Horrors. Probably about 10 new users lurking around.

Just wait until you have three dead games like me, then you can make sad faces. ^_^

I've got three. :V

One everyone basically died and the other two I purposely put on pause due to being out of country. I've not yet had a game die due to inactivity but have had at least one slot in most games randomly wander off.

I may start doing shorter dungeon crawl style games to keep activity high without players wandering off... Hmmm.

Goblins - How does Stealth work? *proceeds to stand in the open where 5/6th of the party can see them with passives*

I swear my players are basically on easy mode for as much as the dice hate me.

Did the freeform games ever get off the ground? I think I recall one, but only BH was participating at the time.

In both my games only one person could see the goblins. Actually the first time I rolled in my gitp game the goblins roll a 19 + mod ... higher than any player could ever see. So I rerolled for the sake of the group.

Started a new combat in my LMoP game on another site and the first two party members to attack both waltz in and crit... one shotting each of their targets.

The first was effectively over before it began.

Hey, guys.

Haven't been around in a while. I don't know if you'll still have me in any of the games that I was in that are still going. I mean, I can perfectly understand if all my characters are considered dead.

I just want to know the status of things.

In Girdlestone, I think T_B sent Leskyn on a magical trip or something. It would be awesome to have you back, though :)
