I would prefer you to be fully invested when you do get into this Zinger. So I'm fine advancing without you for now. Besides, if you had some sort of vision something was about to go down I doubt you'd be in the market playing the doomsday sayer there! ;)

Besides, I think we need something to happen before our group of characters start fighting over a clash of personalities. I have no idea how a devil hating Fetchling will take seeing a demon making a sudden entrance.

The answer is: Badly.

It would have been worse if the creature has the smell of sulfur since that'd mean it was a creature of the Nine Hells that tortured her childhood. But, summoning creatures out of her home plane is bad enough.

Speaking of that the new post should clear up the details for those involved but could you go back at some point and edit Ix into Vigo for the sake of continuity?

Also with Zinger being occupied for the immediate future we get to finally stop spinning our wheels and progress with the titular fall of this campaign. Whoop! I'll give y'all a chance to respond to the most recent post but assuming the plot will lurge forward when I get back from work.

@ Monster-Robot. I'll admit I kinda hand-waved your save for the sake of fixing the flow of events. Don't worry however. Everyone is going to have to make a flurry of saving throws pretty soonish so you can consider that a pre-rolled save (and a good one at that).

Sorry, I seem to have messed up when i was doing my dice rolls so there's an extraneous one outside the spoiler box that won't go away. apparently dice tag wont take labels like the spoiler one will.

Anyway, trying to keep things reasonably peaceful since fighting properly with the party this early on seems like a bad idea (course, if that's the way it goes, then that's what happens).

lol, you might wanna succeed on this one, unless your character can teleport or travel through planes. Garnet has every intention of leaving you on the plane of shadow if you can't calm her down. I was expecting to attack the NPC that did it, but Garren told me the NPC was the demon, not just the summoner, so she went with whoever she first saw instead.

I assumed it was just because she though I had somehow called out the demon . (The call was mental so there's no real way to know who did.) The demon itself caused the darkness. Whjch should get counteracted by my daylight. And im hoping the bluff roll is high enough to have Garnet believe me as far as killing the demon goes and turn me loose to kill it. At worst i'll be stuck in the shadow's edge for 9 hours, which isn't the end of the world.

Are we planning on making a party that is set on hating each other?

Let's count the ways:

1) Fetchling that hates demons (who the Antipaladin brought with him) and especially devils (my character is strongly connected to the latter).
2) A Royal Guard whose job is to deal with troublemakers in the city. (Views the "Paladin" and Fetchling for her actions as such... Likely. Not sure.)
3) A merchant and deal maker who wishes for business to be stable. (Panic in the streets is not productive. In fact quite the opposite.)
4) A Paladin hating Magus according to our late to join friend in the setup thread.

And that's says nothing of what Zinger's characters views are.

1) Im a bit confused on the events going on in the bar...proples actions dont quite seem to line up ...or they're responding to things that already have happened.

2) Im a guard yes, and charged with protecting the city's holdings etc but im not a watchmen, not a police force on the street. Also the fall will spur a huge character development.

Noted, I guess I can edit my posts, the character dialogue, later once we get an idea what is happening when. And I do see why it is better to try to keep a party together if possible. Plus it seems I have a little more to learn about your character.

So you're less the watchman more a commander? What did you have in mind for how your character fits into the city's military/law enforcement (not really sure what to classify you as yet) infrastructure?

Edit: Should I edit the flavor out of my last post if wanted until we can figure out how to handle it?

Okay since there has been some confusion about the flow of events here I'm just going to do a quick timeline of events for the last few posts to straighten people out. On the upside your all pretty much in the same place now and plot will be happening so at the very least I shouldn't be having to post 3-4 spoiler blocks per post which probably weren't helping matters. Okay let's iron this out.

  • Garnet enters the bar and bear-hugs an orc to death.
  • Jastor, seeing the panicked crowd, enters the inn to find out what happened.
  • Vigo, seeing the panicked crowd, enters the inn to showboat.
  • An orb of darkness appears in the inn followed by a shadow demon.
  • Valenthal, seeing everyone else entering the inn, enters too to be popular.
  • Garnet grabs Vigo and they take a walk to the Shadow Plane leaving Valenthal/Jastor/Demon alone
  • Alladar arrives on the scene and heads towards the inn thinking 'what's going on eh?'

Once Bounty Hunter makes his saves I'll be moving plot forward to feel free to edit anything you want up to this point to better fit the flow of events. The saving throws everyone made earlier were for the upcoming plot to save me some time and are nothing to do with what is happening now.

Well there was the business aspect of it... And the deal that wasn't worth it with the fat gnome slave, but since all the action seemed to be focused around there figured to Valenthal over there.

Seems even evil parties can't avoid we all met in a tavern.
