Alright, then I just want to ask you guys: Do you think True Neutral would con people? Neutral to me doesn't mean you can do whatever you want whenever you want to. Neutral means you look at all aspects to see if there is a balance in the end for it. Generally, to me it means you intervene if there would be a shift in balance if you didn't do something, not that you actively disrupt a balance for personal gain. Even as a lowly con, that seems to be closer to Lawful Evil.

Well, my check result will be somewhere between 28 and 31, so unless the shopkeepers in the city are incredible perceptive or know a lot about magic, I don't think they'll see through it.

Yup. I've become frustrated every time I've tried to create the city map, so that doesn't exist, but you all are on the northern edge of the Little Wife Hill neighborhood. It is a commercial area so many of the buildings along the edge and major streets are businesses, including some restaurants and bars. The eastern edge of the neighborhood, along another canal, is a wet market, where one buys live animals or fresh produce.

Across the canal from your building is Lower Chrysanthemum, which is a small residential neighborhood of the Greater Chrysanthemum Area. The bulk of the Greater Chrysanthemum Area is the Chrysanthemum District proper, which is the entertainment district of the city. The parades are currently headed towards the docks that line Arrow Bay, where the final ceremonies of Dragon Festival will take place. Then, some people will retire home and others will continue the party at their local bars or back at Chrysanthemum District.

You know I always felt 4th Editions 'Unaligned' was just a mixture of about three-four 3rd edition alignments rolled into one catch all term, specifically True Neutral, Chaotic Neutral and Neutral Evil (otherwise known as the 'I do what I want' alignments). As such being a conman is perfectly in line with the alignment on account of even the core book being infuriatingly vague about what that actually entails. But at that point we're getting into arguments about the concept of alignment and that is a bottomless pit of argument right there.

I play a fair share of my characters as the unaligned and neutral side of things cause it gives me the flexibility to not be fundamentally against something that the party may want to do. It gives me the freedom to follow the rules and do the right thing when the character can, while bending the rules and committing the small sins when it comes survival.

Alexandros being unaligned means he's not going obstatly refuse to make the fake currency, but hes not exactly jumping at the chance to unload it. I've got most of my 840g left over, and while I'm all for improving the building and getting better gear... I'm not exactly going to con a one armed orphan with cancer using fake money so I can float off the top of my house onto a horse. If one of you were dying, or in jail and needed bail, or so on ... I'd be willing to use fake gold to spring ya or save your life.

My two cents is that 4e is not a game where alignment means what it did in 3.X, and I certainly am not thinking what characters' alignments are when I am creating them for this setting and game. What itaav chose to wrote down on his character sheet should have very little bearing on what kind of person Clank is compared to the things Clank says, does, and believe.

I honestly havent even looked at everyones alignment, and tend not to in most games. (I've never played a game with evil though) For the most part I just assume everyone is 'unaligned' but will do things that a sensible person would find morally acceptable.

I've ready to get out there and explore this festival. But while I wait on the IC to progress im going to start work on my backstory some more (which will mostly be reading DS's thread again). I should cook food at some point too... I forgot to eat dinner last night. Heh.

I am not sure if Slinker is still in. So if people are ever ready to just move onto the main story, I will whisk us ahead. But I am also happy to let you all explore a bit.

Fair enough, I just always assume people are going to play "good" aligned characters. I mean, had I know counterfeiting money was going to be the first thing done, I would have just made an evil character. As it stands, I might have to adjust Asmo since I doubt he'd want to travel with people who are okay with robbing people.

DS, would you mind if I overhaul Asmo to an evil character so he can get along better with the group?
