It's a good pace, I'm just not used to seeing a PBP run this quick.
I have an itchy trigger finger, I like to keep things moving. Besides, if players know I'm gonna keep it going, they're more likely to check in and try to post, right?
I'm sure we have time to find a practicing mage that can divine what's on that note for you, it's paying her/him that might bring us to complications.
12.5 gp is the general going rate for that work if you're looking for a mage to cast Detect Magic. 25 gp if you want to really make sure with Identify. Of course your characters don't know this since none of them are mages. But I'm sure you guys could find the help pretty easily...
... he was the one being a John!
Fair enough, but in a non-module world, you get the explicit joys of finding a range of characters. Everyone from helpful, to surly, to those who will help, to those who will kill. And the fun of it for me is running all of those different personality types. ^_^
Whoops. Hopefully I'll role higher next time I'm lying to the authorities.
Are we doing critical fails/success on skill checks? Some Gms do so I thought I woukd check.
Nope, a 1 and a 20 are not immediate success or failures for skill checks. Although a nat 20 will break any illusion for the character who rolls it. Also, three 20's in a row on a single attack is an immediate death for your target. If you're unfamiliar, when you roll a 20 on an attack you crit, but then you have to roll again to confirm the crit. If you roll a 20 on the confirmation, you get one last free roll to see what happens. This roll won't help or hinder you, unless you roll a third 20... then the fun is seeing how I can justify you killing a stone golem with a bundle of straw.
I see the new posts but wont be able to respond IC till lunch or after work.
No rush, I just woke up...
