The new players should introduce themselves and their characters here OC , just a quick summary, so we can get an idea of who is what and what their personalities are like.

I'll be taking over Noot, and for the other new players, Noot appears to be an old crone of a gnome who will not be participating with combat. Her main purpose will be gathering special items, buying and selling old items, and gathering intel while in port. Her goal in all of this is going to be hunting down magical items to improve everyone's way of life and ease during battles. That and she hopes to make a few gold before it's done.

OK, Fel has been sanity checked, and with a few changes I highlighted, is done. Next up: Ruwin's character Bronhild, the MANLY MAN! :P

Oh, so very manly. SO MANLY.

Sorry about the radio silence recently. I'll be posting sometime today as soon as I catch up. O_O Ehehe.

Hm. Foregoing trial by combat, would it be possible for Bronhild to prove his worth via a display of divine power? Healing, blessings, wards, the like... I mean, Bronhild prefers abilities that augment his combat prowess, of course, but clerics still primarily perform a supporting role anyway, so.

It seems like most everyone wants to forgo the sparing. Im still a tad bit behind since I speed read a few of the posts, but is there anyone thats actually doing the sparing?

What would those not participating in the spar like to do? Will you be watching it and roleplaying? Or will you wander off through town or to the ship to settle in ?

Just thoughts.

Why aren't you in AF&S anymore? I want more Orzhov fics.

@BH: Oh, I'm sure Bronhild would love to see Fel fight his dwarven adversary. Nothing like a good, sweaty, muscular sparring match first thing in the morning to get the blood pumping, after all! *Cough* Anyway, Bronhild would be inclined to watch and, after double-checking to make sure he has everything he needs, would just go directly to the ship and await sail.

@Cato: I lurk around AF&S, but I don't usually post there anymore. Mostly because the conversations move too quickly for me to follow. I mostly post in the M:EM forum, though I've been blindsided repeatedly IRL by near-perpetual crises since the turn of the year. As for Orzhov fics: Had I known they were in such high demand, I would have endeavored to write more. I love that guild. As it stands though, most of the time I have set aside for writing goes to completing Fisco's increasingly complicated arc and fielding the timeline shenanigans that it entails.

Which leaves little time to craft something worthwhile out of the black-and-white (excuse the pun) "evil" mentality that Wizards has assigned a guild which would otherwise have an exceptional capacity for depth.

I am not opposed to waving a hand, and voila! Everyone proves their worth in either the arena (Fel either beats up Balin, or the other way around, or an even match), and same idea for the two spellswords (Leana and Jasmine). The arena was just an idea for burning some time whilst reviewing character sheets. I'm almost through them, so if everyone wants to move to the ship, we can do that.

If you really, REALLY, R-E-A-L-L-Y want to arena fight, we can still do that, but then I'm running two threads and it will cut into sheet review.

So, Terek is out, Fish is out, Iso is out, Bronhild is out, and that leaves Fel and Leana (which if I'm not mistaken were both ok with the idea, but not super jazzed). Either of you two have an issue with just moving on?

I've been casually throwing ideas together towards a Ravnica-like city for a D&D campaign. Mostly just musings when I find myself bored at work and tossing around ideas... I dont have any true set of missions or story together yet, but I think it would be fun. Its probably a bit of a cliche idea, but I was considering that as my first attempt at DMing a sandbox world. It would be an urban adventure and likely have quite a bit of politics, double crossing, and such to it ...but trying to work out how to include more combat and dungeon crawl cause I know that roleplay and setting only get you so far and people wanna kill stuff.

Hmmmmm *ponders*

Also, on a comepletely unrelated note:

For anyone who doesnt have a picture for their character sheet, but would like one, or would simply like to check out what people can come up with... theres a thread up in RPG General (HERE) where you can describe a character idea and people will hunt across the wild ranges of the internet and post pictures. If anyone ever needs help cropping or editing a picture I half decent at that sort of thing too.

I've been working on a Walt Whitman poet planeswalker rambling through Ravnica, writing things he sees, etc. So I'd be down for this, either helping with writing or playing NPCs or something. I can't commit to a fourth campaign though :(

Fel is fine with not sparring. I'd be just as happy following Iso into his evening ramble through the town as I would fast forwarding to the ship and roleplaying.

To further clarify rstnme, my game would not even be going into recruitment stage until after I return from deployment, assuming that I had enough story together by then. So at its earliest I'd be opening up the campaign in around October.

Hey, I'm no stranger to designated evil guilds, I'm a u/b player. Whose idea was it to give us deathcult rogue? How on earth is the Dimir, a guild of spies and librarians, a death cult?

On a note related to your deployment, do you see yourself able to keep up with games you are already in?

Oh, and if you end up fielding a ravnica-like campaign, auto-include me if it's any (and I mean any from 1 to 4) edition of D&D. I have all the necessary player's manuals.

Honestly I dont know and wont know until im there.

I know that ill habe spare time on my hands that will facilitate being online near as much as I am now. However I wont know what sites are blocked (NGA is blocked here), nor will I know when ill be able to have acess to nonwork internet ...be it via morale tent or actually in room.

Ill update DMs as quickly as I can, but I expect there to be a week or two period where ill need to be NPCd.

Blue Coat Proxy has determined NGA to be under the categories 'Games' and 'Forums' both of which are blocked on the network.

Ironically, there are other sites out there that facilitate the same function that I can see at work... such as Giant In The Playground. This is one of the reasons I'd like to see a front page and other content in place soon so that the site has another "purpose" rather than simply message boards. But even then I cant guarantee that it wouldnt still meet criteria that are blocked. Oh well.

So I know this was a few posts back but I was at work and just catching up. You familiar with the planescape campaign setting - specifically the City of Sigil? May just be me but the city always reminded me of D&D Ravnica (or more accurately Ravnica reminded me of Sigil) upto and including groups of opposing ideologies who control most of the city functions and the like.
