@Altimis : Not trying to be rude, but please don't speak on behalf of my character. If you need a boost or anything else in the future simply ask here in the OOC or you can even ask via RP and I'll most likely agree. But I don't control your character, afford me the same courtesy. Thanks a ton.

@DM : Keep Jace in the road by the rock. I'll post IC tommorow morning, off to catch a movie with friends.

@Altimis: I have a once per encounter power that lets me throw other characters. On a medium character the Range is 5 squares but on a small character like yourself the range is 10. I can use this power as an attack too, to let you make a melee basic against whatever creature I throw you at.

Just letting you know in advance that this will probably happen a lot. XD

Deal.
I once had one where I would actually be used as a weapon by our giant companion. I was a gnome, bearing a full set of spike plate and unable to move on my own.

@Oak: I'm sorry. I'm just experimenting to get a feel for everything.

Encounter 1 Has Started!

Everyone state your reactions in the IC thread and roll initiative there.

You may make a minor action such as drawing a weapon, free actions such as talking or pointing, but may not make move actions or climb down from the tree until your first turn.

BH, I have a question about my spirit companion and sort of your interpretation of what it can or cannot do. Is it strictly what is in the book, i.e., I can move it and it blocks movement and it can only attack if I use an appropriate power but it is otherwise insensate and inactive?

For example, it is obviously visible and I can obviously move it into view of enemies, but is that the most it can do if I want it to distract people? Can it perform skill checks, for example, like animal companions can? I know I do not share senses with it, but can it scout ahead, i.e., perceive things and/or communicate these things with me?

ETA: Haha, I never expected to be falling behind in a PbP. (I had an IC post but then my internet died and I took a nap, came back, saw altimis had jumped into a tree, typed this up, and the encounter started.)

Sorry about that. I'm out of town helping some move tonight, stole a laptop while I waited on some food to arrived and typed up a rapid post to keep things moving.

I will look into spirit companions more tomorrow once I get home. Not only is this Mac frustrating me to no end, but I dont have my books / PDFs etc.

But we'll figure something out for sure

Edit: Also guys, it'd be much appreciated if you included your modifiers (even if zero) with your rolls, you can do it in the dice rolls like 1d20+4. Will speed things up in the long run.

Look forward to seeing the giant throw the halfling at things. ;) And with two defenders and a leader, the party should actually be able to handle some shenanigans. As long as it doesnt go like my first Red Box game, where a dragonborn sorcerer hit out rogue with two blast spells trying to hit some goblins, and crit with both killing him on the second round of combat in the whole campaign.

The leader is also a secondary defender, so at the least, we have staying power.

I will remember to include the +0 in the future.

I'm just a little confused on who is who for the markings on the map... is there a legend for it or something?

Clicking on a square with a black triangle in the upper right corner makes a note pop up with information.

No worries, I want to make sure everyone understands the G-Drive. For instance theres an IM in there where you can chat, though id prefer game related conversation stays here. But if you got a quick correction or just wanna hang out and you see me there feel free to say heya.(it doesnt make noise though sadly, so I dont always notice it) Theres still some edits I need to make but can't from phone.

Oh, and sorry I wasn't online much today, work went long. I hate that I work when most people are hanging out on forums. Oh well, guess my character will just seem quiet since I won't be there to speak for him all the time.

Pbps tend to be slower. And you can always retcon a bit of RP if needed.

Do the kobolds see me? Or did, I guess?

Aww crap, unless people forgot their bonuses to their d20.... I think my initiative is highest. Umm... not 100% sure what to do... I mean, I really don't know what a round's post is supposed to look like... maybe the kobolds will go first...

My character isn't very Agile. My initiative is a +0.

I am pretty sure you only have line of effect to one of the kobolds, so you can always open with Thunder Slam.

As a striker, you should be looking to take out enemies quickly, but it's inefficient to use a strong single-target encounter or daily on a minion which only takes one hit regardless. Sorcerers also lean towards the area damage of controllers, so you can help take out groups of minions.

All the kobolds seem to be the same, so I don't think it really matters this time.

Order of Initiative

Kolobs
LordManshoon / Squinty Eyes
Altimis
Zinger
DS
OakenHeart

- - - - - -

LordManshoon and Squinty Eyes may work out who they want to go first. Or they may request to stay on "the same initiative" and whichever of the two posts first each round goes first. Up to them, I'm fluid.
