So, clothing isn't as small as you think. It'll take about three or four yards of fabric to make your cloak / shirt and pants. Each yard is a three foot by three foot amount of fabric. That means while worn, you're looking at 27 to 36 square feet of fabric, which means a lot of casting. Now, if you want to strip down to use cubic feet, it'll end up taking about the same amount of time. Also, while you are a strong Mage, it does tax you to continually cast like that. It's not exactly 'free'. That's why I said it would take several minutes to complete.

Why would I have to go with square feets? You think that the character's "thicker" than a foot?
Or am I just not allowed to cast it with my person in the middle? (And if so, where is this stated?)

Also, if my prestidigitation tires me, does that mean the same cantrip-level spells for, say, Luka (like those Vicious Words she's been throwing out) tire her, too? Are cantrips, then, not unlimited as they're supposed to be? Or are you just making a special case for me because I'm not a caster class? If it's the latter, then I really think you should have given me a heads-up on the matter during character creation.

Okay, a few things:

(1) I'm not telling you that you can't do what you want to do, all I said was it takes a few minutes. Arguing about something that ultimately doesn't help, hinder or really affect your character in any real way is kinda silly.

(2) I'm not singling you out for any reason, I've told the same thing to many groups, including another game run here on NGA. If you like, I'll go hunt down that post as well if you're insistent that I do so.

(3.a) Yes, using spells consistently do tire you because you still have to exert yourself a little per cast, doing so for a few minutes is akin to sprinting for that time. It's easy and anyone can do it, but it doesn't mean you're penalized.

(3.b) Yes, Luka has been using a small spell, but only for short times in combat. From my point of view, broken up between two fights, Luka would have cast significantly fewer times than what I'd envisioned you're doing, and had more time to do it in. If Luka had been casting it to mock people constantly, I'd end up warning that it could tire them as well.

(4) You're not being penalized, there are no minuses to anything for what you want to do aside for a few minutes of roleplay time. Please don't take what I've told you the wrong way, it's just how I see it playing out.

(5) I did not assume you'd cast Prestidigitation through yourself since the spell isn't listed as being able to target a creature. It affects objects and can create, but isn't meant to be cast on a creature. Maybe it's not explicitly in the rules, but that's just how I've always seen it played out.

Meh. All you really need to tell me is "this is how I do it," but I do have to argue for a bit more power when I can. (I do think you're using a pretty unique interpretation of "unlimited cantrips" from what little I can see from searching, though) I AM taking this spell over spells that allow me to otherwise make a decent ranged attacks repeatedly, and unlike most casters, this is going to be my ONLY spell. Again, I wished you'd just let me have my flair; it's not like I'm going to somehow break your game by being able to clean larger patches of cloth quicker. It's just that taking minutes to clean clothes isn't nearly as cool as being able to do it in moments.

I'm actually finding it quite stressful being the Content Czar for two weekly articles... Having to try and get people who aren't necessarily writers to put together segments for me has been somewhat difficult to organize. I mean, I'm really enjoying the end pieces of it, but still. Huh, I spend a lot of time here. Two weekly articles, running one game, running a weekly contest, playing in one Resistance and another RPG.... and still trying to catch up on oh so many podcasts that are now very much in the past and I'm hearing of things so very late. So very late.... Well, in the end, I just hope to get a better system for getting the articles in and scheduled. Guess there isn't a real schedule right now. This has been a long ramble of useless thoughts...

I guess I'm just worried the RPGs don't move fast enough for each game to provide monthly content, it seems every two months is more appropriate. Which means I gotta figure out some fluff for in between the games.... Any thoughts on this? Maybe bugging the DM's for information on their settings, or.... I dunno, I just need more pieces to run. Man, I should not be thinking about this at 3:30 am. I should be sleeping. I think I still have a bunch of PMs to send out for another article idea.... Yeah, I should go do that.

Character sheet is here, still. I whined at Squinty to let me have Perception from my background, and I just decided to have a tarot deck as my trinket, but the rest should be normal I guess. I added some excess things in the p/i/b/f section because I could, and as far as I know, it doesn't have a gameplay impact, but it's easier for me that way.

edit: wow, my character name is unintentionally an anagram of Wrist Ordeal, I'm accidentally going all out.
edit2: actually, I'm dumb, it's Ordeel. Now I feel compelled to change it.

Everything looks good to me. Also, love the concept of a Halfling monk, and the fact that you included damage for many different parts of the body.

Just sent it off recently. Also it was brought to my attention that some of us have a 1 in our proficiency bonus section, when it should be a 2, though after a quick double checking, it looks like all the attack/save bonuses and such were calculated correctly (and I apparently just left mine blank because I already know how proficiency works and prolly glossed over it), but just a heads up.
