Word has spread throughout the country side. Attacks have begun on the surrounding villages. Men, women, children, all have been torn apart. Whole villages have been laid to waste. Some speculate that the one of the neighboring nations has started an invasion, the Paradise or Terisia perhaps. But there have been no signs of troops marching in or out. Traveling doctors have reported an up take of animal attacks. Fatal ones. But none have claimed to have seen an entire village slaughtered. Still the religious and the believers of supernatural feel this is only the beginning of darker things. A trail of bodies is steadily leading to our little hamlet. Whatever this is, will soon be upon us...

Rules:

1. Do not talk about this game outside of the thread if you do not have permission.
2. You may disclose the information in your role PM however you see fit, but keep in mind that each role PM has been individually crafted, so trying to meta game them for victory would just be dumb, especially since your role pm will only contain information about your specific role. Win Cons will be stated openly in the first post.
3. Do not edit, delete, post in hard to read colors, or post in a manner that's intentionally deceptive by it's appearance (for example, "invisitext" or coloring but not bolding a vote).
4. Do not post at night. Naturally accidental posts will be forgiven, but flagerant disregard of this rule may result in modkill.
5. Do not post in the game thread after you have been killed. Not even a "bah I'm dead" post. Just because you're dead doesn't mean I don't have plans for you.
6. Please give notice of any absence that is going to exceed 48 hours. Failure to do so may result in your replacement without warning. Take this as a forewarning that your activity will be monitored by your presence in this game, either by posting in thread, in any secondary capacity your role might include, or pming me directly if you wish to make it known you're present without making it known you're present.
7. Votes and unvotes must be bolded and colored in a color contrasting from the rest of the post they are in. Meaning if you decide to post all your text in purple for the entirety of the game, a bolded purple vote that's hard to see will not be counted. Make it stand out people. All votes must be in the format Vote: Player Name. You must unvote to change your vote.
8. Once a majority vote has been reached, deadline will be adjusted to 24 hours from the current point. During this time votes may still be changed.
9. Once deadline is reached, the player with the most votes will be lynched.
10. In the event of a tie, all votes will be removed and a 24 hour run off will be held between all tied parties. Unvotes will be disallowed during this time. The player with the most votes at the end of the runoff will be lynched. If a tie still remains, random votes will be removed until there is no tie.
11. Be courteous of other players/observers/mods. And by this I mean on a personal level. Do not carry grudges into the game and be mindful of if an issue is striking a personal cord. Everybody is here to have fun, so mostly just don't do anything to try to undermine that or the games integrity.
12. Ask questions. I've done more than my fair share of mafia mentoring so don't be afraid to ask questions about your role or any mechanics in the game that you don't quite understand or might work differently than you think it does. If I can't answer a question because of the game integrity, I'll tell you as much and won't just leave you hanging. As the old saying goes, better safe than sorry. So ask questions.

Roles:

The Wolf - You were taking a leisurly stroll through the woods in the night. It wasn't a night like others. The moon above was blood red. You found yourself staring at it when you heard a growl in the brush behind you. Before you could fully turn around the wolf was on you. It's teeth sank into your shoulder. Searing hot pain radiated throughout your upper body. You attempted to scream, but the heat seemed to suck the air from your lungs, resulting in nothing escaping your throat. You couldn't hold on any longer. Your vision began to tunnel. As the world shrank from your view you heard a distant bang...

...You awoke the next morning as the sun began to rise. You quickly grasped your shoulder to assess the damage but there was nothing there. If it wasn't for the blood stained grass beneath you and the tattered remains of your shirt, you'd swear it was just a dream. You knew the rest of the town would be up soon, so you gathered yourself up and hurried back to your home.

You feel empowered like never before. The wolf imparted on you a gift. Strength, agility, heightened senses, but also a hunger. You will need to feed tonight. But until then you will lay low and try to ascertain the fate of your sire.

You are now the wolf. Each night you must select a living player to feed upon. This will forfeit their life, but will not end their suffering. Each player you kill will haunt your waking hours.

Once per game during the night you may also attempt to sire another player. This will replace your feeding for the night.

The Hunter - The blood moon shone overhead. You had tracked the beast from town to town and finally caught up with him. This night would be a harrowing night to come to head with him though. The blood moon would increase his strength and tolerance for pain. He'd be a hard take down. Treking through the woods you heard the growl and the sound of brush quickly being swept through. Looks like the wolf had found some prey.

Bursting onto a path you see the wolf teeth deep in a person. You quickly fired a shot, hitting the wolf. He lunged down the path. Obsession took the reigns and you rushed pass the injured person, not even bothering to see if they were still alive or who they were. You took two more quick shots, one was a miss, the other clipped the wolf's leg. He began to slow allowing you to get in another good shot. He slowed his pace again, but this time intentionally. You recognized this and drew your silver blade. As the wolf turned and lunged you took two more quick shots at the wolf's chest and then plunged your knife in behind them...

...You sat in the morning air. The sun was slowly beginning to break on the horizon. You pushed the last bit of dirt over the wolf's newly removed heart. You left the body for scavengers to pick clean but took the head with you. You followed the path back to the town but did not come across the victim from the night before. Looks like you will be gearing up for another hunt.

You'll only get one shot at this. Having tracked the beast to this village before let you know that he wouldn't show himself in human form since a stranger would be obvious. But this new target is an old friend to these villagers, meaning you will have to have things exactly right, lest there be rammifcations from the town.

The Guardsman - You had the easiest job in the world. Guardsman of a quiet backwood village. Nothing ever terrible troublesome happened here. Until the attacks that is. Word had spread from nearbing towns by the trade caravan that routinely came through to barter goods from the cities for locally produced goods - farmed goods, gathered items, and the like. Most nights for you were spent in the tavarn having a pint or six and chatting up the bar maiden.

Those nights are gone, at least for now. Instead you spend your time patrolling the town's perimeter. Mind you the nights are cold and you still have a pint of mead or six, to keep warm after all. Whenever you get a chill you stop and take cover by the closest building. Best to keep up appearances, at least.

Each night you may pm me the name of a player. That will be the location of your drinking for the night, but as you'll be in the proximity you will know if that player leaves their house in the night (uses an ability).

The Healer - Cuts and scrapes. That's what you're used to dealing with. But the gruesomeness of the recent attacks that you have been told about make even your stomache queasy. Yet still you carry on, hoping that even if you're confronted with something beyond anything you've seen that you'll be able to save the life of the tortured soul on your table.

Venturing out each night your only hope is to pick the right spot to be in time to save any poor soul from your village that has the unthinkable befall them. But if the stories you've heard are any indication the time you'll have will be very little so if you choose the wrong direction you'll have no chance at helping them.

Each night you may pm me the name of a player. You will venture forth in search of this player. If they are attacked in the night, you will be able to save them from the fate of death. The question then is are you saving them from a fate worse than death?

It is now Night 0. No actions just confirmations. You have, at most, 48 hours to confirm. Game will officially start either after that deadline, or once everybody has confirmed.

Lunch break phone post, will start game after shift.

The town square was a buzz this morning. A stranger had arrived with the dawn's early light. He boasted that he had slain the beast that had terrorized the country side. His proof was a wolf's head. Some townsfolk were skeptical. Some were eager to believe just for the peace of mind it would bring. None could deny that the head of the beast was far larger than any wolf known to man.

"But good people," The stranger continued. "the danger has not completely passed. On my hunt this past night I saw the beast bite one of your numbers. I did not get a proper look at who. But if you do not want to begin this terror a new, we need to find this person before night falls and the beast takes over them."

The murmur of relief quickly turned to a murmur of discontent. Some feared the man told the truth. Others felt they were being swindled. Bickering broke out in pockets here and there. The stranger kept prodding people to join his cause. Finally an elder stepped away from the crowd.

"We will investigate this matter as a town." He spoke above everybody's bickering. "At night fall we will decide if we believe this stranger, and if we do who we believe to be this beast shall be handled accordingly."

Before anybody could object the elder slipped back into the crowd and began speaking with those around him about their whereabouts from the previous night.

It is now Day 1. You have five days from this post to deliberate and lynch. Or don't. It's your call.
