All Our Locksmiths A lock is a mechanism that secures buildings, rooms, cabinets, objects, or other storage facilities. A "smith" is a metalworker who shapes metal pieces, often using a forge or mold, into useful objects or to be part of a more complex structure. Thus locksmithing, as its name implies, is the assembly and designing of locks and their respective keys by hand. Historically, locksmiths would make the entire lock, working for hours hand cutting screws and doing much file-work. Lock designs became significantly more complicated in the 18th century, and locksmiths often specialized in repairing or designing locks. A locksmith's work frequently involves making a determination of the level of risk to an individual or institution and then recommending and implementing appropriate combinations of equipment and policies to create "security layers" which exceed the reasonable gain to an intruder or attacker. But surely if a locksmith can do all that, the reverse must be true as well. The profession is under attack from enemies within. Whereas security has been the smithy’s primary goal, there’s a rising tide of dissenters brewing in your midst. They would rather sell their services to those who wish to tear down the walls between them and their desires. But before they can do that they must take control of the smithy’s guild. You must root out these undesirables before it’s too late. The Rules
This game features a Locked and Unlocked system. This will have differing effects, depending on what is being locked or unlocked. The most common of these will be players. While a player is locked, they are not affected by non-lock abilities (specifically abilities that neither lock or unlock a player) and cannot use abilities of their own. Lynches can still be performed on Locked players. Locked players may Unlock themselves at will, but will only become unlocked at the beginning of the next cycle. Unlocked players function normally. The Players 1. Duskyblue 2. Skystone 3. KingofDominaria 4. Ragnarokio - Unlocking Cop 5. DaRkStAr 6. Aaarrrgh - Locking Doc 7. Faerie - Lock Pick 8. Tevish Szat - Encryptor 9. shadow amber - Noose Unlocker 10. Rubik 11. Zinger2099 12. Captan Lunch - Time Lock With 6 alive, it's 4 to majority and 2 to hold a lynch. |

S'far as I know, everyone starts the game in either a locked or unlocked state, depending on their role. I'm more interested in how you knew I started locked, and why you chose to reveal that to the thread (potentially compromising me, for all I know) before we've even gotten past the confirmation stage. Like, what possible town motivation could you have for doing this? Seems super suss to me. Vote: Tevish |

I chose to reveal it because it seemed interesting to me. My ability is to target one player each day and, if they're unlocked, get a chat with them. I have no reason to believe this particular information is stuff that needs to be played close to the chest, so when I have something solid with which to start discussion rather than joke voting, I'm going to do it. |

I don't believe you. Who is and is not locked is very important info. The rules specifically state that a locked player is "not affected by non-lock abilities (specifically abilities that neither lock or unlock a player) and cannot use abilities of their own", meaning, players' locked status, once revealed, tells those with nefarious abilities who they can and cannot target. For all you know, the Mafia night kill can only target locked players, and I just skyrocketed to the top of their kill list because of you. At best, you are foolishly revealing information that you should keep close to your chest without a proper understanding of the implications of such a reveal, not unlike in A Spider-Man Mafia 3 when you told the world who the real spider-man was, sending the remaining clones into a flurry of misplays that nerfed most of them resulting in a mafia victory. That's AT BEST. At worst, you're scum and you're trying to put information out there to harm me. Either way, given how flimsy Day 1 usually is, I've never seen a Day 1 lynch candidate I was happier voting for. |

If anything, that similarity only points towards a town!Tevish as opposed to a scum!Tevish given how Tevish chose to approach you with his own information (very much inline with how Tevish, as town, approached the Spider-Man info in ASMM3). Also, I'm fairly certainly there were a variety of causes that directly led to a mafia victory, the least of which may have been Tevish's choice. I mean, we had some town actively working with a delusional illusionist (much to town's dismay), and you had me killing town (as a byproduct of what I previously mentioned -- and partly because, no wait that is included with Ex's death, yesssss). |
