I was joking, because squinty got a higher roll than me.
Also, for you squinty_eyes (I know the phasing rules almost backwards):

The easiest way to describe it:
The creature is (essentially) entering and leaving the battlefield without triggering any ETB or LTB abilities (it does trigger phasing abilities). When it is phased out, the permanent ceases to exist, and effects do not count it as being on the battlefield.

The most important thing:
*Phasing is attached to the untap step, before everything untaps (Phasing, Untap, Upkeep, Draw, Play etc.). That means, if a player doesn't get an untap step, phasing doesn't happen. (Things with phasing don't phase out, phased out things don't phase in.)

Which way would you prefer me to represent phased out permanents?
(in order of my preference)
This is normal to compare to ==>Taniwha, Taniwha, Taniwha**, Taniwha(Phased)
