Welcome to Gintama Mafia: Curse of the Monkey’s Paw!

Image

A cursed monkey paw has been discovered recently in the Kabukicho district. It is capable of granting three wishes, but at a great cost. Three of you have conspired together to split the wishes from the cursed relic. It's up to the other nine of you to thwart their plans.

Gintama Mafia: Curse of the Monkey’s Paw is a standard 12 player mafia game. At the beginning of the game players will be presented with three roles and will be able to select one. Each role has three one-shot abilities available to them. As this is a relatively busy game mechanically, there are some special rules describing how mechanics interact.
Special Rules

Here are the standard mafia rules, there are a few deviations from a regular game so I suggest you read them even if you are familiar with mafia.

Standard Rules

The game will officially begin when every player has confirmed via PM. Votes and abilities will not be counted until then.

For being the only name on the list I don't recognize. Clearly they are a spy.

HaHaHaHaHaHaHa

There's no need to worry. Fruit is a close comrade of Rubik and would never betray us.

I am here. I plan to use my no lie policy in this game. I have picked a character.

I have the ability to make target player switch alignments. Just saying. Anybody out there particularly interested in changing sides?

That's actually a pretty cool ability. Not sure about the functionality what with it being more likely to hurt us then help us (being more likely to hit a townie then scum and all) but certainly a fun ability. Kinda want it to come down to you vs two scum now just so you can flip the table on them by switching ones alignment and taking the win. That would be hilarious.

EBWOP - Can you target yourself with that ability?

Post subject:  Re: Gintama Mafia: Curse of the Monkey’s Paw

While there is no limitation that says I couldn't target myself, it would have no effect on me.

Post subject:  Re: Gintama Mafia: Curse of the Monkey’s Paw

Also, to correct myself, it technically doesn't say that the targeted player switches alignments, rather, that the targeted player is allowed to win with the other team. I don't know if that actually changes their alignment or just broadens their win condition.

Deadline is in 10 days from the day 1 post. [Nov 2, 2015 9:16 am Pacific]

You can vote to end the day earlier.

A majority will not force a lynch before the deadline.

(See the rules for more info.)

(Also: This isn't in the rules, but if people decide they want shorter default day lengths, you may vote to decrease their duration.)

Post subject:  Re: Gintama Mafia: Curse of the Monkey’s Paw [Day 1]

I guess we are talking about Zinger.

Assuming Zinger is on the level and isn't just channeling PK, we have a few obvious scenarios.
-Nobody requests
-Scum requests and sells out scumbuddies
-Scum requests and pretends to sell out scumbuddies while actually naming at least one townie in the mix of sold out comrades.
-Town requests and pretends to sell out scumbuddies while actually naming other players whose alignment they are probably unaware of.

Both of the last two seem to be sort of a stretch because Zinger can obviously just choose not to try to switch the player's alignment/broaden their win condition until both of the other named players have flipped scum. Seems very likely that anyone who bothers to request the change will actually be scum.

Also, because fun rules.

Vote: Random Lynch
